unigolion a’r holl grwpiau gwirfoddol a chymunedol sy’n gweithredu yn Sir Benfro ¨ Cwmni cyfyngedig trwy warant ac elusen gofrestredig, a lywodraethir gan ymddiriedolwyr a etholwyd o blith yr aelodau ¨ Rhan o rwydwaith o Gynghorau Gwirfoddol Sirol sy’n cwmpasu pob ardal awdurdod lleol yng Nghymru Fel un o’r sefydliadau aelodaeth cydnabyddedig ac annibynnol sy’n ffurfio’r Bartneriaeth Isadeiledd Trydydd Sector yng Nghymru, mae CGGSB yn bodoli i gefnogi a datblygu gweithredu gwirfoddol yn Sir Benfro. Yn ogystal, mae CGGSB yn darparu rhyngwyneb, neu berthynas waith, rhwng mudiadau gwirfoddol a’r sector statudol.


Who we are Pembrokeshire Association of Voluntary Services is: ¨ the independent association of voluntary and community groups in

Pembrokeshire ¨ a membership organisation, offering full or associate membership to

individuals and all voluntary and community groups operating in Pembrokeshire ­ how to become a member ¨ a company limited by guarantee and registered charity, governed by trustees elected from the membership ¨ part of a network of County Voluntary Councils covering every local authority area in Wales As one of the recognised, independent, membership organisations that form the Third Sector Infrastructure Partnership in Wales, PAVS exists to support and develop voluntary action in Pembrokeshire. PAVS also provides an interface, or working relationship, between voluntary organisations and the statutory sector.

Mae aelodau’r tîm Gwasanaethau Cymorth yn rhoi cymorth i’r holl brosiectau a staff a leolir o fewn y gymdeithas. Maent hefyd yn ymddwyn fel ysgrifenyddiaeth i’r Bwrdd Ymddiriedolwyr. Gellir cael mynediad at sgiliau Rheolaeth Ariannol, AD, Rheoli Adeiladau ac Iechyd a Diogelwch trwy’r tîm hwn, ac oddi fewn i bortffolio o wasanaethau / cyfleusterau a gweithgareddau a ellid eu darparu ar gyfer grwpiau, medrwn helpu gyda: ¨ Gwasanaethau ariannol, sy’n medru cynnwys cyflogres a chadw cyfrifon i grwpiau

Support Services Support Services is the name given to the combined Finance and Administration teams at PAVS. Support Services team members provide support for all projects and staff based within the association. They also act as secretariat for the Trustee Board. Skills in Financial Management, HR, Premises Management and Health and Safety are accessible through this team and within the portfolio of services/facilities and activities that can be provided for groups we can assist with: ¨ Financial services which can include payroll and book­keeping for member ¨ ¨ ¨ ¨ ¨ ¨ ¨

groups HR support and guidance Facilities management of in­house meeting spaces Practical help with design, printing and reprographics Short­term hot­desk hire or longer term dedicated desk space hire Photocopying, laminating and binding services ICT equipment including multi­media projectors and laptops are available for hire Projector screens and flip chart stands may also be hired

Development Support PAVS Development Support is available to voluntary and community groups that need help with any issues that affect their organisation at every stage of their development. The service is tailored to meet the needs of each group and includes: ¨ ¨ ¨ ¨ ¨ ¨ ¨ ¨

Support to develop a governing document which meets the group’s needs Support with the Charity and Company registration process Help to amend and update an existing Constitution Tailored guidance sessions to help committee members understand their roles and responsibilities as trustees Information to keep voluntary groups up to date with changes in UK, Charity & Company Law that will affect their organisation Support to develop necessary polices to cover their current and proposed activities Support and information to enable groups to take advantage of tendering opportunities Guidance on all aspects of running a voluntary group

Funding Support The PAVS Funding Advice Service offers support to groups with the different aspects of obtaining funding. The service is tailored to meet the needs of the groups and includes: ¨ Support to identify possible sources of funding using “Grantfinder” which identifies

appropriate Local, Regional, National and European sources of funding ¨ Support for groups to consider a wide range of funding options including grants, loans,

trading and income generation to find the right “funding mix” to sustain their activities Access to funding publications as well as guidelines for top grant giving bodies Access to the Finding and Getting Money range of information sheets via the PAVS website Support to plan fundraising approaches and develop a fundraising strategy Funding events and practical workshops including the PAVS Funding Fair and opportunities for groups to meet face­to­face with funders at ‘surgery’ sessions ¨ The PAVS Pembrokeshire Impact Fund – a capital grant scheme with funding of up to £3,000 for voluntary/ community groups and social enterprises across the county ¨ Guidance on filling in application forms and constructive feedback on draft funding applications ¨ Training and group support sessions ¨ ¨ ¨ ¨

Training Support PAVS delivers a number of learning opportunities tailored specifically to meet the needs of the voluntary and community sector including: ¨ An open training programme with courses on a variety of topics from finding funding to trustee

¨ ¨

training, including a number of accredited courses. Courses are discounted for full PAVS members A selection of additional courses that can be run just for your group, at a place and time convenient for you, providing you have 6 or more participants A free ‘Build on your Skills’ workshop for your organisation, facilitated by the PAVS Training Officer to identify what training is needed in your organisation ­ PAVS will then help you find the courses you need Promotion of courses offered by the voluntary sector through advertising on the PAVS website and in the Training Programme Free membership of the Pembrokeshire Third Sector Learning Network (P3LN) and online community for those with an interest in learning/ training within the County A signposting service to other courses / providers in Pembrokeshire; through the Pembrokeshire Learning Network

Representation and Joint Working The Representation and Joint Working Team within PAVS works to promote and maintain strong links between the voluntary and statutory sectors within Pembrokeshire, helping voluntary and community groups to get their voices heard within strategic planning structures. This work is carried out by: ¨ Encouraging collaborative working between all those involved in service delivery across a wide range ¨

of partners Facilitating networks including Health, Social Care and Wellbeing, Children and Young People and Carers, which meet on a quarterly basis to consider local and national policy changes and to receive information and/or training on a wide variety of subjects Publishing regular e­bulletins and/or quarterly newsletters to keep groups informed between network meetings and to gather views at short notice, should this be required Ensuring that views are fed into the local, regional and national planning and consultation processes Supporting individual network members to provide effective third sector representation on strategic planning groups and partnerships Ensuring that services delivered by voluntary and community groups are used to their maximum potential through the work of Voluntary Sector Brokers within Community Resource Teams across the County Providing a link between the work of PLANED in rural communities and service planning and delivery through the Community Planning Link Officer role Representing the third sector at strategic planning partnerships Supporting unpaid carers in Pembrokeshire through the Carers’ Forum; publication of the Carers’ Gazette; development of services for carers and general support/signposting

Gwirfoddoli Sir Benfro Gwirfoddoli Sir Benfro yw canolfan wirfoddolwyr CGGSB, sy’n darparu amrywiaeth eang o wasanaethau i gefnogi gwirfoddoli yn y Sir. Trwy gyfrwng y prosiect Porth Ymgysylltu, mae lleoliadau i wirfoddoli’n cael eu cynnig i bobl sydd wedi bod yn ddi­waith am gyfnod hir, fel cam cyntaf tuag at waith neu hyfforddiant pellach, ac mae ffocws ar wirfoddoli ymhlith pobl ifanc hefyd. Volunteering Pembrokeshire Volunteering Pembrokeshire is the PAVS volunteer centre, providing a wide range of services to support volunteering within the County. Through the Engagement Gateway project, volunteering placements are offered to people who are long­term unemployed as a first step to work or further training, and there is also a focus on youth volunteering. Volunteering Pembrokeshire has contracts with Jobcentre Plus and Careers Wales and offers confidential advice and guidance on employment, training and personal development as well as volunteering. Volunteering Pembrokeshire supports potential volunteers by: ¨ having an informal interview, to understand what they hope to get out of volunteering before suggesting placements ¨ tailoring referrals to meet individual volunteers’ requirements ¨ providing an Outreach service (by appointment only) in Milford Haven, Pembroke Dock, Tenby, Narberth, Fishguard and Newport ¨ offering an informal advocacy service for volunteers (and groups) where issues have arisen Volunteering Pembrokeshire supports groups in developing volunteer opportunities through: ¨ A written guide and a complementary one­day course for groups entitled ‘How to Develop a Volunteering Initiative’ ¨ Ongoing help and support with recruiting and managing volunteers to meet best practice standards ¨ Support with national volunteering programmes and initiatives ¨ A volunteering bulletin, published twice a year, which is distributed to registered volunteers and some organisations. www.pavs.org.uk/volunteering/ volunteering@pavs.org.uk

Communities 2.0 Circuit Rider Project PAVS’ Circuit Riders (ICT Support Officers) offer advice and support all aspects of ICT (Information Communications Technology) for your group or organisation. You may want to: ¨ Set up or improve your website ¨ Buy the right computer and new software ¨ Share photos & videos of your events ¨ Video conference your clients, Trustees or staff for free The Circuit Riders also deliver workshops throughout Pembrokeshire to show how modern technologies can enhance your work, reduce your costs and improve your communications. Through the Communities 2.0 project, PAVS works with voluntary groups and organisations based in, or who work within, targeted areas of Pembrokeshire, namely: ¨ ¨ ¨ ¨
