Main Entrance Plan - In Between

Lower Theater Plan

The upper theater is heavy and its spaces carved from the mass. Views into the theater focus on the stage to draw the audience in to the performance. From backstage and accessory spaces, the lower theater spaces and entry way can be seen.

Walking through the entry allows views into both theaters. Above they can see the stage and performance. Below they can see the audiences reactions. Turn left and enter the mass of the upper theater. Turn right and enter the openness of the lower theater.

The Lower Theater is open and interactive. Views of the Lower Theater focus on the audience and their reactions and involvement in the performance. The theaters open nature creates public spaces like the cafe, to be viewed from above.

West Elevation

West Building Elevation One potential tenant required a large exterior patio and canopy as well as using corrugated metal siding in-lieu of ship-lap siding at their exterior walls. At one corner of the building (right side of elevation above) the brick corner is cut open, exposing the third layer. In this case it is the metal siding.
