The project tackles an attempt to save a small fishing community in Mumbai, India from urban explosion. The process includes strategically identifying a space in the urban context for a viable fishing industry along with mixed use functions and flexible spaces. An existing fish market with its close proximity to a village was chosen to be enhance in a way that it can help the locals to flourish and revive its traditional occupation. Modular design was applied to the proposed project which can be either realized in steel or wood depending on the scale of the project. The flexibility of the module enhances its variety of use and is based on different principles such as of Indian architecture and its culture. The proposal also includes the development of the existing context by placing these modules within the fabric respectively. The project primarily aims to improve the quality of life for the existing urban villages and providing urban infrastructure for a diminishing community and a long lost occupational tradition. 4

The modules are designed to be a unique element which can be repeated from a single unit to a combination of multiple units. Depending on the scale of intervention it is possible to change its dimensions based on a given prescribed proportion. The simplicity of the module makes it convinient to be replicated and be reproduced with materials that is demanded in a certain context. 6

The proposed project is a mixed use project of multiple functions designed to serve the dying Fishing Villages in the Western Coast of Maharashtra. The main proposal is to provide spaces for the process of fishing along with serving the beach with some touristic activities. As per the context it was possible to divide the project into 4 major components the tourist area, the fish market, the Utility space for fishermen and lastly the informal settlement in the context. 7

Inujima, Japan is a small island in a quiet inland sea called Seto Naikai. You can walk around the entire island in about 1 to 2 hours. Once, it is flourishing with industries as copper refining and stone quarrying, it is said that this small island had a population of 5000 people. However, along with the decline in the industries, the population on the island declined progressively, and now there are only about 50 islanders. The average age of the islanders is about 80 years old and the aging population and depopulation now remarkably limit the development of the settlement. The project aims to revive the life of inujima through artistic interventions and livelihood programs. The idea is to work on its environement the island has various sceneries. The island has sloping landscapes and as you walk, the view of the sea is continually coming next to you and then disappearing again. Basins, which remain from the old quarries, appear in various points on the island as pond this elements of the island was used to study the proposed function and architecture of the place.

P R O J E C T
The project concept is exploring the middle level of the island. Literally means the middle elevation of the island. since it has various countours it would be interesting for us to find a common ground and built our project from there. A deep investigation about topography, views and even the possible human expereriences was made to fully understand how the whole island can work. Creating special nodes (functions) that is connected by a path that goes all throughout the island makes the user experience more efficient was the initial idea. The island now attracts 30,000 visitors per year and with the proposed project it is expected that visitors will grow in time. The project includes the path, workshop, accomodation and viewing decks. Being sensitive to nature was one of the main strategy of the project. not to excavate too much and going along the site topography. 12

The project focuses on an housing development in the Martesana area in Milan. Located in ZONE 2 in Milan – the area connects the center of Milan and its periphery. Its history is based on being a passageway to nearby cities in the direction of Venice (North East, Italy). The presence of the Naviglio Martesana was given importance during the early days as it used by the Milanese for transportation until the construction of the railway system during the 20th century. Zone 2 is described as a rural area changed into industrial area. Overtime as population increased a lot of factories has been dismantled and replaced by housing facilities. In the present it is described as a residential area mostly home of European Immigrants. The urban strategy aims to integrate the river and nearby social spaces to create a structure that perfectly harmonize the space. A deep analysis in the river instead of the surrounding site instead was given importance. Being in a periphery there was a strategy to build a playful masterplan that becomes positive and negative spaces as urban spaces, connecting it to vital parts of the site was essential. 18

SECTION PERSPECTIVE T H E

The architectural concept tries to simplify the integration in terms of function the landscape and the building. Urbanity was used as a theoretical element that provides function to both spaces but using a physical common language. The section above shows how the material of the ground, climbs up the structure and serves as an envelope thus, we call it an urban carpet. The relation of the public and the user is believed to be harmonic and more feasible in a site with peripheral point of view. 22
EXPLODED AXONOMETRIC
FACADE
The facade has the same drawing as of the public space outside. 4 similar buildings with low floor level and a high residential tower was proposed to create not a monotonous strong vibe but more of a diverse mix of volumes. Also the users was assumed to be mixed in this project. All ground level here serves a social space that can be used in accordance to their surroundings. 23

The project calls for a luxury house with a corresponding art gallery in Milan. With the city as an urban context, the idea is to incorporate such lifestyle, where the users can feel innovation and progression through ideas of design. On the other hand, it should also be a series space where the users can feel tranquility and good amount of comfortability, which is a major goal of architecture and thus, an urban retreat. Transcending spaces, emotions that can be narrated by the composition of spaces and volumes are essential in creating a good architecture The metaphor of the spaces is like a persona exhausted in the context of society seeking for a sanctuary but not moving away from the context of existence.

Solar studies, waste management and energy production was the main focus for this project. 05 Civiplex Complex| Commercial and Rennovation | Architecture TO and Restoration | Timisoara, Romania 2019_Conceptual 08 The project is for an energy company in Romania, the owner wanted a building that reflects the vision of the company. This project is unique in terms of design concept. Pedestrian over vehicular, full integration of sustainable concepts and possibility of glass facade without sun shading during summer. 09 Cultural Center | Museum, Auditorium and Observation Tower | TO Architecture | Qinghuihe, China 2019_Conceptual 12 Inspired by the cave houses “yaodong” in Northern China, the project will be developed under a sloped terrain and following its contours. A courtyard as a reference to the old cave dwellings was utilized to act as an Passivhouse element. A PV tower was also proposed facing the south facade. Chimneys from fire places are used to execute passive house concepts when the other mechanical systems will not work. P R O J E C T
