Nityananda Trayodasi The auspicious occasion of Nityananda Trayodasi, the appearance day of Lord Nityananda, fell on Sunday 5th of Februrary. Despite inches of snow the night before, devotees flocked to the temple and participated in the day long festivities. Ramcharan dasa gave long discourse on the glorious pastimes of Lord Nityananda in the morning and in afternoon Sachi Kishore dasa gave another wonderful class which included a very entertaining drama from the temple brahmacaris. Other highlights included abhisek of Sri Sri Gaura Nitai, a sumptuous feast cooked by Shyam dasa and Gopi Bhava devi dasi and, as always, devotees danced long into the night to the wonderful kirtan of Radha Londonisvara dasa.

Youth Preaching February was another eventful month for youth preaching activities. The main highlights are outlined below.
University Preaching Mantra Jam! This month the Krishna Conscious Society at SOAS came together to launch a new project to introduce kirtan on a massive scale at SOAS.

Some of the students were able to attend this festival, enjoying the feast and becoming completely absorbed in the evening kirtan in the temple room, which for some was completely mesmerising as it was their first real exposure to the power of congregational kirtan on a large scale. Imperial Hindu Society The Imperial Hindu Society invited us to participate in a religious ceremony which was attended by over 25 students.
We are planning to participate in a major culture show at SOAS scheduled for March, with the aim of enhancing awareness of our Society and the thrills of kirtan which they have been experiencing. To this end, the team visited the temple to make sweets which were then sold at SOAS to raise funds to finance the event. This project has instilled a stronger sense of togetherness and belonging within our KC Society, encouraging the students to take on responsibilities and at the same time increasing their association and familiarity at the temple.
This event allowed us to build stronger relationships with the students at Imperial, and gave us to opportunity to introduce to a new base of students the fundamental principles of devotional service. Alongside the above highlights, the usual Gita Sutras and Cooking Workshops were maintained. The Gita Sutras topics covered this month were ‘Love Defined’ (for Valentine’s Day), ‘Facebook & the False Ego’, and the ‘Inner Voice’.
Nityananda Trayodasi Another major event this month has been the celebration of Nityananda Trayodasi at the temple.
