These one-hour orientation classes are required in order to checkout motor-driven ORC boats. Advance class registration required. Cost is $5. Adventure Events
Glass Fusion Class: Dec 1. Air Base ORC. Patrons will learn general glass fusion techniques and procedures. Participants will create an 8-inch or 12-inch square dish with instruction from an expert. $15. Cost includes materials and instructions. Two hour class begins at 10 a.m.. Paint and Sip: Dec 1. Air Base ORC. Participants will be instructed on how to paint a scene from the local Charleston area. Only “artists” age 21 and older are permitted to bring and consume alcoholic drinks. $15pp. Cost includes instruction and the materials needed to complete your project. Class times is 6:30-8:30 p.m. Holiday Festival of Lights: Dec 2. Charleston. Come enjoy a crisp December night with a ride through Charleston’s famous and well-known Christmas light display - the Festival of Lights, at James Island County Park. There are more than three miles of over 700 Christmas light displays, along with walking trails of lights and a light show! $10pp. Price includes transportation, admission and Smores kit for the camp fires in the park. Departs from the Dive on the Weapons Station at 6:30 p.m., returning around 10:30 p.m. Botany Bay Photography Class: Dec 2. Edisto Island, S.C. Botany Bay is a 3,363-acre wildlife preserve located on Edisto Island. Without a doubt, it is one of the most picturesque locations in the South from sunrise to sunset. Travel around during this safari with a professional photographer who will help you capture the beauty of locations such as Boneyard Beach. Cost: $25pp. Participants need to bring a camera with them. Departs from the Air Base ORC at 8 a.m. and returns at approximately 4 p.m. Velocity Air Sports: Dec 7. North Charleston. Jump and bounce around with us in this indoor trampoline park, which includes a Ninja Warrior Obstacle Course. $10pp. Price includes transportation, admission for a two-hour session and trampoline socks. Departs the Dive on the Weapons Station at 8 p.m., returning around 11 p.m. Beach Horseback Ride: Dec. 8. Seabrook Island, S.C. This is a scenic, relaxing horseback ride on the beautiful beaches of Seabrook Island. Trip is for inexperienced and experienced riders. $40. Cost includes transportation, ride, all gear and guides. Departs from Air Base ORC at 7:15 a.m., returning around 12 p.m. All riders must be at least 12 years old and weigh no more than 240 lbs. Tandem Skydiving: Dec. 8. Walterboro, S.C. Jump out of a plane because your mother told you not to! The $100 price includes transportation, tandem sky dive, snacks and instruction. Must be at least 18 years old and weigh absolutely no more than 220 lbs. The trip departs from The Dive on the Weapons Station at 7:15 a.m., returning at approximately 5:30 p.m. Rock Climbing and Pizza: Dec. 12. Air Base ORC.
