Wild Blue Ropes: March 2. Charleston. Come test your ninja skills on this 72-obstacle high ropes course. Complete the course at your own speed. Try out our Ninja Warrior course we have set up and see if you can set the fastest record! The $15 price (reg. price - $50) includes transportation, admission for a two-hour climb, all equipment, instruction and dinner! Leaves the Bowman quarterdeck at 6:15 p.m., returning at approximately 10 p.m. Seabrook Island Horseback Trips: March 3 & 24. Seabrook Island, S.C. Scenic horseback tour good for inexperienced and experience riders. This trip takes you through some heavily wooded areas and some marshes. This trip goes fast so sign up as soon as possible. Minimum age: 8; maximum rider weight: 250 lbs. Departs the Air Base ORC at 8:45 a.m., returning around 1 p.m. Cost: $40 (reg. price - $75) each trip. Gymnastics/Parkour: March 9. Summerville, S.C. Beginners and experienced welcomed! Come spend three hours in a private gymnastics and Parkour session where you have free range of the entire facility. Instructors will be available upon request during the session. You’ll have the opportunity to experience bars, beams, trampoline track, rope climb, spring flooring along with much more! The $10 price (reg. price $20) includes: transportation, admission, instruction and private session. Departs the Bowman quarterdeck at 6:15 p.m., returning around 10:30 p.m. Tandem Skydiving: March 10. Walterboro, S.C. Jump out of a plane because your mother told you not to! The $100 price (reg. price $180) includes transportation, tandem sky dive from 10,500 feet and instruction. Departs from the Bowman quarterdeck at 7:15 a.m., returns approximately at 5 p.m. Zipline Charleston: March 11. Awendaw, S.C. Come join us as we zipline through the trees of Awendaw National Forest at speeds up to 40 mph!. Must be 12 years of age or older and can’t weigh more than 250 lbs. Transportation and zipline included in the $40 price. (Reg. price - $80) Departs the AB Outdoor Recreation Center at 10 am., returning around 3 p.m. Dog Night: March 13. Weapons Station Bowman Center. Come meet and greet some friendly Great Danes. This is a “great” stress reliever and a way to meet some of your fellow classmates. The Danes will be either inside or outside of the Bowman depending on weather, 5-7 p.m. Free activity for Sailors and Airmen. CPR Class: March 14. Weapons Station Bowman Center. Valuable and informative instruction on how to save lives. American Red Cross CPR certified class that will include instruction on adults and adolescents. This class is an impressive entry on resumes. Cost: $20 (Reg. price - $50) Archery: March 15. Outside Weapons Station Bowman Center. Try something new by learning how to use a recurve bow. Join us for instruction and fun. Free activity for Sailors and Airmen. Discover Historic Charleston: March 18. Downtown Charleston. Haven't you always wanted to learn more about the great city we live in? This bike tour takes you throughout beautiful, historic downtown Charleston. Departs the Air Base ORC at 8 a.m., returning at approximately 3 p.m. Cost: $10 (Reg. price - $30) Departs the Air Base ORC at 8 a.m., returning at approximately 3 p.m. Harrah’s Cherokee Casino Trip: March 21-23. Cherokee, N.C. The $185 price includes: transportation, two nights lodging (based on double occupancy) and incentives of $30 gaming and $30 food. (Reg. price - $275) This trip has limited seating, so sign up now. Departs the Air Base ORC on Wednesday at 10 a.m., returning around 6 p.m., on Friday. Botany Bay Plantation Preserve & Edisto Island Serpentarium: March 24. Charleston. Join the Air Base ORC on a fun trip to beautiful Edisto Beach. Trip includes going to the beautiful Botany Bay Plantation Heritage Preserve and the Edisto Island Serpentarium. Lots of visually stunning sightseeing, plus you also get to see a bunch of different species of snakes! A few stops to local stores may also be made if open. Departs the ORC at 10 a.m., returning around 5 p.m. Paris Mountain State Park: March 31. Greenville, S.C. Greenville is ranked as one of the top cities in America according to Business Insider for great food and amazing scenery. We’re going to be checking out both of these on this awesome day trip. Make sure to bring athletic wear for hiking. Cost: $15 (Reg. price - $30) Departs the Air Base ORC at 7 a.m.; returning at approximately 8 p.m.

Classes are every Tuesday at 4 p.m., during the month. The “finale” is the Learn & Earn Carnival on Feb. 27. The carnival is free and open to all youth. Young men offered personal “Passport to Manhood” FEB. 23, 7 P.M. - 12 A.M. WEAPONS STATION Passport to Manhood is a Boys and Girls Clubs of America program that represents a targeted effort to engage young boys in discussions and activities that reinforce character, leadership and positive behavior. Each participant receives a “passport” to underscore the notion that he is on a personal journey of maturation and growth. Each of the program’s sessions use interactive activities to focus on a specific aspect of character and manhood. Also during the evening, the group will have a late-night flag football game. This is a boys-only event for ages 9-18. The guys will be fed a spaghetti and meatballs dinner during the evening. Cost to participate is $5. Prior registration is needed.
