Heading
OUT?
July and August are the peak months for permanent-change-in-station moves. Whether you are a first time mover or you’re an “old pro,” you will always benefit from good planning and a positive attitude. Taking advantage of Military & Family Services is a crucial first step - whether it’s through a relocation class or a one-on-one appointment, service members and families will gain useful knowledge and specific tools that will enable successful moves. “Plan My Move” through MilitaryOneSource.com is another valuable resource. It allows people to set up a calendar tailored to their specific needs, such as whether or not they have children or pets that will be moving to the new installation. Also on Military One Source are more than 200 articles on coping strategies and stress reduction. Got kids? “Military Youth on the Move” can be found through this same site where kids and teens will find videos, articles and more geared to them. Now that you know where you’re moving to, you’ll be able to view articles, photos, major unit listings and agency contacts for programs worldwide through MilitaryInstallations.dod.mil. Not only will you be able to find your new Installation, but you’ll find specific programs, services and a downloadable directory for your new base. Another great cog in the wheel is sponsorship. If you are looking for a sponsor or you want to be a great sponsor, eSponsorship (eSAT) applications and training information can be found at MyTrainingHub. Across the street or across the globe Military & Family Services is here to help. Your first step is easy – just call (843) 963-8883.
