A “mandatory formation” that’s a real game changer

Can you think of an organization that will pay you to attend a five-day workshop to help you succeed in your next career or job? There’s really only one…the Department of Defense. The mandatory Transition Assistance Program (TAP) prepares separating and retiring service members, and their spouses for post-military success. Many members delay the inevitable by procrastinating their pre-separation counseling and Transition, Goals, Plans, and Success (TGPS) workshop attendance. However, the more proactive members are in controlling their military departure, the better the opportunities for success in the civilian sector. Retirees should begin their planning 24 months prior to their retirement and those separating from the service should begin 12 months from their separation date. Call your Military and Family Readiness Center today at (843) 963-8883 to ensure you are prepared and to take advantage of this game-changing opportunity.
