US Snipe Sailor Diversity at its best

Last, but certainly not least, the US Board, consisting of District Governors Chris Ryan, Steve Tautz, Jess Lawhead, Kathleen Tocke, Diana Waterbury, Cliff Wright and other board members Gus Wirth, Alan Capellin, Andy Klein, Lee Griffith, Andy Pontious and Executive Administer Danielle Richards all meet via conference call quarterly to keep their eye on the big picture of keeping and growing the class.

Energy can be contagious. Our class has energy sources all around the country. Many of us have sensed this at the highest level of competitive at Nationals, NA’s or major regional regattas. And the top echelon of the US class has represented us well at Worlds and WHO’s Championships. Very impressive. But the level of involvement and Art Rousmaniere commitment in women in Snipes is quite unique. We have been regularly getting US National Secretary 15 or so teams at US Womens Nationals over recent years. And we now have a newly-formed US Womens Advisory Committee that reports to the US Board and that includes Aimee Heim, Aine Fretwell, Kathleen Tocke, Lisa Pline, Bridget Wiatrowski, Jennifer Rousmaniere, Diana Waterbury, Sonya Smith, Lara Dallman-Weiss, Stacey Szabo and Connie Commette.

This is really cool stuff. Catch the energy and reach out to any of these folks with your ideas. I am entirely confident that your suggestions and general feedback will be appreciated. Like I said…. Energy can be contagious. Happy Sniping to all! - Art “I cannot not sail” ― E.B. White

And how many classes can also claim as many enthusiasts as we have for wooden (“classic”) Snipes, most of which are older than just about all of us. Seattle’s John Rose has been tracking down as many of these as he can (see separate article in The Snipe Bulletin). And this alternate universe has two – count ‘em – TWO regattas this summer (Marina del Rey and Winchester) that include Classic Snipes.
