About the Authors Anita Finkelman currently serves as visiting faculty at the School of Nursing, Bouvé College of Health Sciences, Northeastern University. Professor Finkelman earned her MSN in psychiatric-mental health nursing/clinical specialist from Yale University, and her BSN from Texas Christian University Harris College of Nursing. Ms. Finkelman’s 35+ years of nursing experience includes clinical, educational, and administrative positions, and considerable experience developing distance learning programs, development of curriculum and other online products related to simulation learning, and teaching online.

Carole Kenner is the Dean and Professor of the School of Nursing and Associate Dean at Bouvé College of Health Sciences, Northeastern University. Her research and career have been dedicated to the health of neonates and their families, as well as educational and professional development of healthcare practices in neonatology. Her leadership in maternal-child nursing with special emphasis in neonatal palliative care has provided her with international recognition. About the Authors Dr. Dee McGonigle received her BS in nursing from Penn State University, a Master’s in Nursing from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and her PhD in Foundations of Education from the University of Pittsburgh. She is the President of Educational Advancement Associates, Editor-inChief of Online Journal of Nursing Informatics, and Professor of Nursing at Chamberlain College of Nursing. She is actively involved in integrating active and collaborative learning strategies into traditional as well as online courses. Dr. McGonigle’s current areas of interest include improving online learning strategies, the ethical implementation of the care management process and healthcare informatics, and the effect of the human–technology interface on job performance and information management.

Dr. Kathleen Mastrian is an Associate Professor of Nursing and Program Coordinator for the Shenango Campus of Penn State. She has a PhD in Sociology with an emphasis on Medical Sociology, an MSN from Pitt and a BSN from Penn State. She has been involved in the education of nontraditional aged students for 30 years in the RN to BS nursing program. She is one of the founding proposers to place the RN to BS program online for the Penn State’s World Campus, has developed three of the courses for that curriculum, and teaches at least one section per semester for the World Campus RN to BS program.
