I am a Graphic Designer originally from Grand Rapids Michigan that started art at a young age, but never imagined I would be where I am today. I prominently gained traction as an artist when I was an exchange student in Taiwan, learning more computer skills, ceramics, drawing and painting. I am also a Marine Corps Veteran that was an aviation mechanic, specifically working on jet engines for the EA-6B Prowler. Although these seem very different parts of my life, every experience has made me into an artist, a problem solver, and a tenacious hard worker. 01 72 CRITICAL HOURS 72 Critical Hours emergency survival kits were created as a means for those who might find themselves in trouble at the hands of mother nature. The concept of 72 Critical Hours is that of quality compact survival gear, realistic expectations and proper education in regards to personal safety. This brand was built from the ground up in order to create a tangible and useful product for any person to use.

7 Corporate Event Creative Portfolio

02 SALESPAD CORPORATE EVENT Working within the brand standards of SalesPad and the theme of space exploration, the PANELS 2018 creative project took many months of planning and designing. The major digital component was designing an event app through CrowdCompass which included customizing the navigation, colors, banners and overall aesthetic. Other digital media included banner ads, e-mail campaigns, social media posts. Print materials included wayfinding and classroom signage, pamphlets, and other various deliverables.

11 Industry Professional Collaboration Creative Portfolio

03 AMWAY INDUSTRY PROFESSIONAL COLLABORATION Tasked with creating a social media presence for Amway Corporation’s Nutrilite Bodykey health food line, I worked with creative students from Grand Valley including an illustrator, and copywriter in order to give the brand energy and vibrancy. We were required to use the BodyKey logo but still had creative freedom in our branding and marketing tactics. This was in a competition between other groups and ours was chosen as the top overall design and brand delivery.

04 PUMPKIN FACE RUM PACKAGING

During the winter holidays there are many gift options for alcohol sets that will include a product and extras. I took this idea and created a Halloween theme gift box set from an existing brand of spiced rum. This included hand fabrication of the box, glass etching and print materials to ensure the brand is cohesive for the gift box.


17 Packaging

A symbol of celebration to people around the world. The origin of the pumpkin can be traced to North American seeds dating back to 7000 BC. The word pumpkin comes from the word “pepon”, which is Greek for “large melon” and later changed by American colonists to “pumpkin”. Colonists would often slice off the pumpkin top, remove the seeds, and fill it with cream, honey, eggs and spices. They cooked the pumpkin in hot ashes until blackened, then enjoyed its contents. Pumpkin Face Rum honors the spirit of this tradition by filling the bottle with the finest ultra premium rum in the world.

05 US CURRENCY Tasked with analyzing the US currency and revamping it, I went for a more sleek, updated and coherent design. There needed to be a common theme among the bills which I brought out with choice in color, patterns and featured individuals. Those chosen to be placed on the bills are individuals that contributed to scientific experimentation and advancements to our society here in the United States.

06 RECORD ALBUM PREPRESS Inspired by the 2017 Styx concept album, The Mission, this was created as a Special Edition LP for packaging. The story behind the album is the journey of the first manned mission to Mars, set in the year 2033. This project plays off the lyrics of the album, and also the playfulness of previous Styx record art. All components were created in order to have a complete and engaging package.

07 HIGHER GROUNDS Traverse City-based coffee company Higher Grounds Trading Company has a unique brand that I wanted to create a trade booth for. I mimicked the idea of their logo to create a larger than life version of it for trade shows that would also double as a coffee shop. This required an extensive amount of research on trade show booths, concept design, adaptation to 3D modeling, and rendering of the finished booth. I also designed banner print display elements that would accentuate the brand, integrate into the booth design, and overall enhance the ambiance.

This specific design was the incorporation of symbols in Navigation to create a new logo with the qualities of this field. In this project, the creative brief required that I design a new magazine with a specific readership. I chose color digital photography and my main feature article is tutorial on panorama photographs. I believe a magazine such as this would be beneficial to not only showcase artists work, but also give tutorials for both professional and amateur photographers alike.

HAIRie was created as an e-commerce brand looking to provide an all-inclusive, affordable men’s grooming product that is more androgynous. Male grooming is currently one of the top future growing products within the e-commerce market. This entailed product research,  building the brand, and the creation of numerous touchpoints and products.
