By modeling possible futures in response to sea-level rise in the Narragansett Bay, I try to bring something unique to the table: an experimental, hands-on approach that inspires local citizens to view the problem with fresh eyes. “Most people don’t see what isn’t there,”
Sea level rise is forcing residents and businesses to move away from Warren. Keeping the residents and businesses in Warren, providing new homes, industrial space, and jobs is essential for this old and backward city. In the industrial part, I support a hemp industry on the Kickemuit river east of Metacom Avenue with a new retail and wholesale market place. The area is suitable for harvesting and selling products depending on the water quality and environment. We also develop a new hemp processing factory along upper Metacom Ave. The original house flooded will be reused as greenhouse to grow hemp or other plants. The ownership of these greenhouses will be given back to the previous residents as a kind of welfare.
Floating Hemp Greenhouse Hemp has traditionally been grown outdoors in fields to be cultivated and harvested in mass quantities for textile and other industrial uses, but those interested in cultivating hemp for the purposes of producing CBD and for health products are seeing the benefits of growing hemp in greenhouses. I keep the foundation of the original houses and settle the greenhouse on that. In response to the incoming flood, the entire house was elevated and waterproofed to avoid partial corrosion from prolonged immersion in water.
Industrial hemp is a versatile and sustainable resource that can be used in many industries. From hemp to hempcrete, hemp fiber, and biofuel, there are thousands of uses of the Cannabis Sativa plant. Based on the fact that Warren has no traditional industry, I introduced the hemp industry in this area. By exploding the existing farms in the north, they provide raw materials for the industry. The site is conveniently located at the intersection of Market St and Metacom Ave. The plant will go through cleaning and drying to prepare it for the processing plant. The hemp stalks will go to a decortication plant or retting facility, while hemp flowers, buds, and seeds will go through bucking or de-budding and dehulling.

Redesigned industrial hemp extractors is a scalable solution for industrial and agriprocessing demands ranging from 10,000 pounds of marijuana or hemp input material per day to more than 200,000+ pounds per day. It provides continuous operation for the most efficient production of the world’s finest THC and CBD oil.
The core system requires only two technicians to operate the machinery, an immense improvement over large batch production methods that don’t come close to the throughput of the KPD series of extractors. In order to fit for the site, I reassemble all parts of the system so that the vistors can watch what is going on in every processing step.
We establish a strong set of east west connections in Warren, linking the communities of the historic downtown on Main street, with the new town center on Metacom Avenue. And that new district connects to its own waterfront along the Kickemuit River, with a new exhibition & convention center supporting by the local hemp industry.
Sea level rise is forcing residents and businesses to move away from Market Street. We plan to keep the residents and businesses in Warren, providing new homes, industrial space, and jobs and create new lively community surround Metacom Avenue.

Resilient buildings can adapt and evolve to a city’s ever-changing program and the lifestyles of its inhabitants. Unfortunately, as older building stock becomes obsolete, this results in wasted empty or under-utilized space. How to utilize a flexible and efficient structural system that affords the adaptability that urban buildings and people of all ages need today is essential. Moreover, the project tries to address the loneliness and isolation resulting from anonymous city living where people are hyperconnected online but lack meaningful personal contact. Therefore, the project divides the sites into four areas to deal with different groups’ problems. The project has vast potential as an urban activity generator, providing the area life and atmosphere with its many residents, staff, and guests.
Blending the old and the new, the project aims at realizing an innovative architectural design that pays homage to traditional Shanghai architecture and the nearby thousand-year former residence while incorporating modern building techniques and materials.
As the center of the site, central square where people gather and stay, is a descented plaza. The square is used to break the main crossroad to integrate landscapes and open space and incorporate culture features, public artworks, plazas and event spaces.
The existing site is a brick historical building. Considering its historical value and the continuing facade of the whole area, thus some floors of the building still adopt the traditional building’s characteristics and the other is adapted in the morden style. In order to follow the trends of morden business form, the concept of co-working space. In one building, it contains offices, conference rooms, exhibitions, road show, gym, and leisure spaces in different floors. Almost all kinds of the business can settle here and cooperate with each other. Furthermore, the space is equipped with the basid service, which helps unify the management.
The modular neighbourhood is planned to set new standards for welfare, well-being, security and functionality, and be a place where senior citizens, young people and children not only live close together, but also supplement and benefit from each other. Aimed at different family characteristics, various room types can be selected.
For the olds, they are unable to adapt themselves to the new residential form. Thus smooth transition is also important. Traditional residential form have to be kept.

Symbiotic relationship exists in the earth for millions of years. Human breaks the rule and balance. Skyscraper, human’s by-product, has a great demand for energy source from nature. The skyscraper is in the city forest tall person, holds most sunlight, the resources and the opportunity. However, it cannot breathe and even robs the energy nearby. The goal of this project is to create a benign relationship between nature and architecture under mutual benefit. The architecture establishes a skyscraper ecosystem with its variations in climate according to level and utilizes landscape design to sovle the environment problems.
Translucent Facade
Glass windows and open facade systems add sunlight to almost all levels. To provide a proper and comfortable office environment, direct sunlight must be avoided, thus setting the translucent curtain.
Large sky terraces at every 7-10 floors within the block extend the living space of residents from indoors to outdoors, creating a biophilic environment within a high-rise development. every unit is visually connected to greenery outside their apartment windows. A series of open, yet sheltered sky gardens, terraces, balconies and planters create a breathable facade and visual interest. Sky green will be influential in defining the new benchmark of sustainability and skyrise greenery for the city’s future developments.
Main elevated road is located in the east of the site, and the noise problem is especially serious. Introducing the water curtain system helps absorb the noise and create a gental atmosphere with the sound of waterfall. The whole building is defined by its nonlinearity, opposing to the ambient rationality, it is a twist of the architectural body. This body is inhabited by a vegetation extending over the whole height.
Vertical Green
Ss the somg is much more serious in this area, the plants in the higher levels are chose to better clean the air. The plant species are selected and placed with consideration of the facade orientation and the living functions behind, providing either privacy, shade, or views as required.
As reported, the air quality have became especially in winter, that the wind stopped fumes from vehicles added to the smog. a better air atmosphere, the plant in effectively clean the surround air.
To reduce water runoff, rainwater is reused to cool the towers and irrigate throughout the site. The water curtain is recycled and reused in the lavatory with the dense vegetation to a cool microclimate. sensor-controlled irrigation system that rainwater has been incorporated into the guaranteeing a year-round green facade.
To break through the traditional urban development model, combine with the and integrate the power of high technology. building tries to realize the infinite extension in a limited space, creating a green and environment.

If the architecture is culture in itself or if architecture is a play in itself, maybe it is both static and dynamic. When people in the architecture are players on the stage, the house neaby and the environment are properties, architecture is changing all over the time.
Considering the demands of people and sites, the power of culture is incredible. This project is under the investigation of reality, backwardness, and aims at handling the problem of rural areas, especially for the left-behind elderly and children.
The architecture references the stage of local traditional play, shadow puppet. In addition to solve the problem of steep ghat and deserted site atmosphere, it also tries to revitalize the village economy and establish rural tourism brand.

Art originates from the contradiction and conflicts between material and spirit, tradition and modernism. Music is a destructive but powerful volcano, containing the fiery power. One of the concert hall, a vehicle for expressing art, is the lava from a volcanic eruption, invigorates the whole area.
As a cultural jewel of the city center, the concert hall awakens curiosity and attraction through its interplay of tradition and contemporary stylistic idioms – employing contemporary language of forms. Expressive stairways, public bleachers and assembly venues break the seriousness of the band, creating an open, inviting perimeter.
The project uses computer software simulation and field measurement to study the physical site environment. According to the data, the basic architectural form and structure can be simulated. With the concept of magma, the outline mimics the curve of flowing lava, extending to the interior. The whole building is a dynamic product.

The fast-paced and high-intensity working life in the future puts a lot of pressure on people in the physical world, while the metaverse gives people the opportunity to create their own unique, wonderful and interesting working and living station. VR technology allows virtual avatars to travel in time and space, and combined with optoelectronics and architectural space to construct a deep, immersive wonderland.
The virtual world is a place full of possibilities that are independent from physical space constraints. In the past, the communication between people and community mainly relied on the real architectural space, but now it has been moved to the digital space. There are two main functions of the house: entertainment mode and working mode, which can be simply switched in the virtual world according to the user’s need. In the working mode, the futuristic working space populated with dynamic digital surfaces creates an efficient and comfortable working environment for virtual avatars. In the entertainment mode, living space innovatively replicates the beauty of nature. The whole room is covered by grass and flowers, which is inspired by the basic human need for warmth and coziness.

Tumbleweed, prickly, restless, rambling, takes matters of spreading seeds into its own hand. In fall, the plant dries out and dies so that wind easily breaks the dead tumbleweed from its root. A special layer of cells at its base makes this brea possible. Meanwhile, the stem of tumbleweed covers many thorns and fuzz, which makes them more easily to tumble on land. Then tumbleweed heads out on the freeway, neighborhood, green lawn or any open range. Until finding an optimal barren place without competition, it stops and settles down. I envisage designing a self-propelled building, mimicking the seeding pattern of tumbleweed, that can adjust its direction by wind on land like a sailboat in the ocean, which can dock once it finds a suitable habitat at sea. The power energy of the building is contributed to clean wind, without any pollution. During the process of migration, the organic waste produced by humans can be discharged through the sewage outlet on the facade of the building and become fertilizer for nature.
