Petit Library Addition Fall 2018 The Petit Library is a public library in Syracuse, NY. I added an annex building attached to the building taking up the existing parking lot next to it. The annex building has a wrapping condition around a central reading area. The levels of floors are separated by privacy. The annex is meant to have bars of space that are clearly defined but still are open to having a clear connection. These spaces also all wrap around this reading nook that is the main idea of the annex.

Fall 2018 The building is situated in Hersey, Pennsylvania in a local green space. The building is designed for a couple escaping from the their lives in the city. The building is a long corridor that transitions from more public to more private. The long corridor is then broken with a area of window that encompusses the whole exterior. The home is meant to take up very little space and to hide in the landscape.

Regenative Art Spring 2019

The ever-growing issues of the climate are addressed within this project. The project takes into consideration the dynamics of carbon emissions and the pollution to the plant. As the main contributor to this crisis is the built environment it is important that we try to change this environment to be more environmentally friendly. This project takes advantage of new technologies that help create a more environmentally conscious building. The design uses the help of bladeless wind turbines to help power the building. The wind turbines become an interactive piece with the occupancy and a column structure that helps guide circulation. The building also uses the landscape of the site to help support the design. The building is an art complex that is for environmental art pieces to be worked on and presented. The building uses the landscape by being the connection between two tree lines and presents its own outdoor art gallery. The building is also separated by public gallery space and private workspace by a courtyard space. The planer elements of the building’s wall structure provide directionality. The clerestory windows allow sunlight in the building but still gives the artist the ability to pin-up art pieces on the walls. It also provides more winter light to enter the building while also not exposing the inside to the summer sun.

Silo City Fall 2018 The site is located in Silo City, Buffalo, which is an abandoned grain factory on the buffalo river. This building is meant to transform this forgotten site into an art depot for artist and visistors. The building potrays this with creating this city of art. Half of the building is for the designer and the other side is for the visitors and both sides inclose this central space cutting off and creating this new art city. There is a focus on circulation and how the visitor and the artist have very different paths but then come together at the end.

Roofs Spring 2018 This was a process of taking the standard forms of roofs and abstracting them. I used gable and pitched roofs and then started to abstracted these roofs to the point where they are harder to read. These roofs are meant to push our understanding of what a roof could be and how we may be able to use those thoughts in the design process.

Columns Spring 2018 These are another abstraction of an object. This is an abstraction on a Doric column. The abstraction of this column is consistent with the roof condition. Taking it the point that it is almost unknown but still able to identify that it is a column. It is designed so that when it comes to design you do not forget to think outside the box.

Drawings Fall 2017 These are just some of the drawing that I wanted to focus on. The one to the right is a crumbed piece of paper on a table. The paper represents throw away ideas that never became a reality. The second peice is a recreation of the Piranesi drawing. His drawing really focus on a unreallistic scale but the drawings give you a better understanding of perspective.
