From summer camp fun to classroom exploration to children’s theater productions to the celebration of Jewish values and traditions, children and families define the daily life and character of the JCC. A Spectacular Achievement: 75 years of the ECC Our Early Childhood Center is celebrating its 75th year, and our annual dinner will highlight this extraordinary accomplishment. For 75 years, the ECC has been nurturing our children and enriching our community – and the excitement and public celebration kicks off at our dinner! Our Honoree We are thrilled to be honoring Kathy Neustadt, a past JCC Board President and current Board Member. Her leadership at the Center consistently demonstrates her extraordinary commitment to Jewish values and community building. Why the Annual Dinner Matters Dinner sponsorships and table sales help fund the programs and operations of the JCC. The Annual Dinner is our largest and most important fundraiser, providing foundational support for our numerous family programs. Fundraising at the Dinner Two years ago, we made our first ever pitch from the podium because the demand for scholarships exceeded our ability to help families impacted by the recession. The success of that appeal indicated that our guests enjoyed the opportunity to support a worthy cause. This year’s dinner fundraising will be dedicated to funding children’s programs.
Some details about the ECC • The ECC program is designed to help develop the whole child: socially, intellectually, emotionally and physically. We encourage the development of children’s inner resources: curiosity, creativity, imagination, independence, a love of learning and self-esteem. • Every day experiences are infused by Jewish traditions, ethics and values. • The ECC is the first school of its size in Colorado to achieve a 3 Star rating and the only Jewish early childhood center to be Qualistar rated. • Our teachers receive ongoing training in the field of early childhood education and support one another in applying best practices. • The ECC serves 235 children beginning at 12 weeks through 5 years, in 15 classrooms. • We have constructed new and natural outdoor learning environment designed to foster children’s imagination, curiosity and cooperative play.
How Your Donation Helps Funds raised through the dinner directly make the following programs possible: • A gift of $50,000 allows us to fund one main stage production by MACC’s Denver Children's Theater • A gift of $15,000 allows us to add two natural, integrated “learn and play” elements to the ECC playground • A gift of $10,000 provides an annual scholarship for a student to attend the ECC • A gift of $5,000 allows for in-service training for preschool teachers • A gift of $3,000 funds one child’s session at Ranch Camp • A gift of $1,000 provides funding to enable a special needs child to attend Camp Shai
The Colorado Child Care Contribution Credit – it could be the last year! • If you don’t take advantage of this credit, you’re missing out. It is possible that the credit will expire this year. (It depends on the state of the State’s coffers.) • All dinner donations (excluding the fair market value of the dinner) are eligible for the Colorado Child Care Contribution Credit, which provides a 50% credit on a donor’s Colorado state taxes in addition to the usual federal deductions.
