2023 Impact Report
I am proud to have been a member of the JCC since I was in elementary school. I grew up attending camp, playing sports and utilizing the fitness center. My wife and I have had children in the early childhood (ECE) program, use the aquatics facility and play sports at the JCC. I am at the JCC several times a week playing tennis and attending meetings and programs. So when I became more involved in Jewish communal leadership, it was a natural fit for me to join the JCC and Jewish Federation boards of directors.
Our JCC is more than just a building; it is a hub of connection, a sanctuary for personal growth, and a catalyst for positive change—we are your community (kehilla). I see community happening in the JCC in all areas of the building from the ECE, Fitness Center, Tennis and other
programming that we have on a daily basis. People come to the JCC not only just to drop off their children, get a workout in or attend a program; they come because it is a place to connect with others in the community.
Numbers Are Only Part of the Story
In the following pages, you’ll see some yearly facts and figures that help illustrate the impact your support has meant to our kehilla (community). Behind these numbers are people, including those who made it happen - teachers, instructors, program managers, volunteers and many, many others.
But mainly, behind these numbers is you; none of
the programs and services would have been possible without your support. We’re grateful to you for your membership, your program participation, your time and talent, and your financial contributions that make our J a community for all of us.
The theme for this annual report is ‘Kehilla’ or community. We are grateful to our members, former members and friends for being part of our community in 2023.
Donations to the JCC's Chai-Unity Fund play an important role in closing the gap that our non-profit faces every year because membership dues, tuition and program fees cover a little more than half of what it takes us to operate such a beloved community resource. The Chai-Unity Fund, the JCC's annual unrestricted fund, provides essential support for operational expenses, program development, and financial stability. The Chai-Unity Fund helps cover core operating costs, enhance diverse programs, and fosters community engagement, This support enables the JCC to grow, innovate, and effectively serve the needs of the Jewish and broader community in Indianapolis.

The JCC is grateful to Sophisticated Living magazine for its generous ongoing media sponsorship of JCC events and programs to help make an even greater impact in the Indianapolis community.
