I extend my sincere gratitude to JCI Johor Bahru Entrepreneur for granting me the opportunity to contribute to your 1st Quarter E-Newsletter. It is with great pleasure that I offer my heartfelt congratulations to Local President YK Lim and his esteemed Board of Directors for the remarkable success and impactful achievements throughout the initial quarter of 2024, fostering sustainable change within the community.

Over the past three months, JCI JBE has demonstrated remarkable dedication by active participation in the 2024 JCI Malaysia Leadership Summit and the 2024 JCI Malaysia Area Central South Academy, hosting the Area Central South Recruitment and Retention Workshop in Johor Bahru. Furthermore, JCI JBE successfully organized the largest Joint Installation & Awards Banquet in Johor, through collaboration with three other local organizations in Johor Bahru

As we transition into the 2nd Quarter of 2024, I encourage JCI JBE members to maintain this commendable momentum. I eagerly anticipate witnessing your active involvement in the upcoming JCI Malaysia Area Central South Convention in Johor Bahru and the JCI Asia Pacific Conference in Siem Reap, Cambodia Furthermore, I am keenly looking forward to witnessing the continuation of your flagship projects such as Go Global Series, Waste to Green, and Carnival – initiatives that have been recognized for their sustainable impact on our communities and businesses.

With the objective of achieving a 20% increase in membership by the end of 2024 let us collaborate to advance the 2024 JCI Malaysia Plan of Action, em leaders to join us in addressing global challenges within the lo business landscape.

Hello readers, I am the Secretary General and Q1 Editor-inChief.I am glad to share with you our current direction of designing the 2024 Q1 ENEWSLETTER, "New Initiative".

As the Johor Bahru Entrepreneur of Commerce continues to grow, new members are joining more and more frequently In the past six months, the number of new members has reached 20% of the total number of members. In the past six months, we have been leading a group of new event organizers. The training of event organizers needs to be systematic and strategic, and this is a principle that we have been adhering to for a long time.

Develop a training plan

Create a detailed training plan prior to the newcomer's arrival to ensure clarity and comprehension of the entire training process

Assign consultants for ongoing follow-up.

Assign experienced consultants to newcomers for problem-solving assistance, regular follow-ups, and ongoing support to ensure continuous growth and development

Supply required resources Provide hands-on opportunities

Provide newcomers with necessary tools, documents, and materials to facilitate job comprehension and learning.

Provide hands-on learning opportunities alongside theoretical knowledge, offering timely feedback and coaching to newcomers.

Encourage questions and feedback:

Create an open communication environment, encouraging newcomers to ask questions and provide feedback for timely problem-solving and enhanced training quality.

Reflect and summarize

Hold timely review meetings after each activity to analyze effectiveness, identify problems, and optimize activity plans for enhanced efficiency and quality

In the past few months, we've witnessed our new event planning committee tr from confused to confident, and the growth from unfamiliarity to proficiency. T have shown excellent performance in their respective positions and contribute development of the association. We are convinced that with such a dynamic an potential team, our future will be brighter.

很⾼兴能与⼤家分享我们本次设计2024 Q1 ENEWSLETTER的⽅向《New Initiative》。

随着新⼭⽂华国际⻘年商会不断发展，新会员的加⼊也愈发频繁，

近半年来新会员已达到总数的20%，在过去的半年我们陆续带领了 批新的活动筹委，

培训活动筹委们需要系统性和策略性，这是我们 直坚守的原则。

培训新活动筹委员之路：

制定

培训计划

在新活动筹委员加⼊之前， 将准备 份详细的培训计划。

确保计划清晰明了有助于新活动筹 委员了解整个培训过程。

提供必要的资源 提供实践机会

确保新活动筹委员有所需的⼯具、 ⽂档、资料等，以便他们更好地学 习和理解⼯作内容。

除了理论知识外，还需要提供实际 操作的机会，让新活动筹委员通过 实践掌握技能，并且及时给予反馈 和指导。

分配顾问持续跟进 ⿎励提问和反馈 反思总结

为新活动筹委员分配有经验的顾 问，帮助他们解决活动中遇到的问 题，定期跟进新活动筹委员的情 况，提供必要的⽀持和指导，确保 他们能够持续成⻓和发展。

建⽴开放的沟通氛围， ⿎励新活动筹委员提出问题和反馈 意⻅，以便及时解决问题并不断改 进活动质量。

2024联合就职典礼颁奖晚宴筹委主席谢礼泽⻘商

作为 名学前班教师，我于2023 年完成了学前班的学业，并萌⽣了组织⾼端活动的强烈愿望。当 有机会与四个南⽅地⽅组织合作举办就职典礼颁奖和宴会之夜（IAB）时，我迫不及待地接受了领导 团队的责任。我有领导约20 名员⼯的经验，能够与50多名年轻企业家和领导者接触，同时专注于我 们的⽬标，我感到⾮常兴奋。

然⽽，这 路上充满了障碍和学习曲线。起初，由于缺乏信息和沟通，我低估了⾃⼰的能⼒，过于 依赖资深成员。后来发现，了解每 个细节、建⽴清晰的组织结构图、过滤不必要的声⾳对于有效 协调⾄关重要。

在整个筹备过程中，我遇到了时间限制、批评和缺乏议会程序知识等挑战。然⽽，我坚持了下来，

认识到了建⽴联系、适当委派任务以及提出赞助商 揽⼦⽅案以管理预算限制的重要性。

尽管困难重重，但这段经历让我受益匪浅。我学到了保持坦诚沟通、平衡个⼈和职业承诺以及培养 团队凝聚⼒的重要性。我还认识到了表扬团队成员的努⼒以及明确活动⽬的的重要性，从⽽最⼤限 度地增加收⼊和赞助商的曝光率。

展望未来，我为下 任筹委主席提出以下⼏点建议：尽早提出建议和预算以避免延误，与所有相关 组织密切联系，优先考虑参加彩排，保持清晰并跟进部⻔进展，熟悉议会程序。此外，保持活动的 明确⽬的、为赞助商提供最⼤限度的曝光机会以及培养团队凝聚⼒也是成功的关键。

总之，虽然担任组织主席的过程可能充满挑战，但只有通过坚韧不拔的精神、有效的沟通和不断的 学习，才能取得成功。通过落实这些经验和建议，未来的主席可以克服障碍，最⼤限度地发挥活动 的潜⼒。

Hey, how's it going? This is Martin ENG, the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and Co-Founder of Metabit. Due to the structure of the board, my responsibilities extend not only to development, planning, strategy, and management but also to finance, HR, legal, and marketing Essentially, I oversee all aspects of the business except sales.

I lived in Australia for 6 years and have been working as a programmer in the IT industry for 9 years now. I was once a freelancer, and after returning to Malaysia, I worked extremely hard, progressing from Engineer to Team Leader, and then to Project Manager within a very short period of time. I co-founded Metabit with a Japanese entrepreneur, Gen Matsuda, towards the end of 2022, when I was 29 years old.

Q1: What are your thoughts on new members undertaking Area Projects?

It's a mix of excitement and anxiety, largely because of my own personality and past experiences I thrive on challenges, enjoy discovering the unknown, love learning new things, and am meticulous about details and quality. Despite having some experience in project and personnel management, due to my relatively recent involvement with JCI and limited networking, I've faced many challenges due to uncontrollable factors while working on the Area Central South Project.

Q2: How do you overcome these challenges?

It's crucial to ensure that the team has solid communication and everyone is on the same page. I'm both proud and honored to have been able to bring on board the 2023 Executive Vice President, Hannah Han, and the 2023 Local Secretary, Lynn Yap, to be part of the committee team. Words can't describe how much both of them have been trying to coach and pass their knowledge and experiences to me throughout the event Special shout-out for all the support, encouragement, and assistance from the 2023 Local President Lye Lih Chun Hoe and the 2024 Local President Lim Yi Khang It means a lot to me as a new member of JCI Johor Bahru Entrepreneur

Moreover, JCI has a resourceful database and an incredibly efficient system for new members to explore For instance, our meetings adopt Parliamentary Procedures inspired by "Robert’s Rules of Order," which include specific protocols for meetings, motions, voting, etc This information also helps new members to quickly kick off their projects.

Q3: What advice do you have for other new members?

The JCI platform focuses a lot on inheritance. New members will learn from history, improve upon it, and make every cumulative step count towards success. So as new members, it's critical to ask questions whenever you're in doubt. If no one is willing to help, you have to figure out a way to reach the right personnel. An important aspect of JCI is its Protocol, with each chapter having its own Bylaws. While it's not compulsory, I strongly recommend new members try their best to read and understand the Bylaws. Personally, it helped me gain a deeper insight into JCI And, of course, if you're ever having any trouble as a new member, you could also reach out to me for help anytime I'm more than happy to be a part of your JCI journey!

⼤家好，我是Martin，Metabit的⾸席技术官 （CTO）以及联合创始⼈（Co-Founder）。 由于 董事会的构造，我不单负责开发，计划， 策略， 管理，也必须负责财政，⼈事，法律与 营销。基 本上所有业务，除了销售（笑）。 我曾在澳洲留 学与居住6年，作为 位程序员 在IT⾏业⾄今也已 经有9年了。我曾经是位Freelancer，回国之后利 ⽤最短时间由 Engineer做到Team Leader，再升 到 Project Manger 职后⼜过了⼏年，在 个机 缘下与⽇本企业家 松⽥元 于2022年末联创 Metabit ，当时我29岁。

Q1:新会员做AreaProject有何感想？ 即兴奋⼜焦虑。这其实与我⾃⾝的性格与经历 有 很⼤的关系。我热爱挑战，喜欢探索未知， 学习 事物，注重细节与质量。纵使在管理项⽬与⼈⼒上 已经有⼀定的⼼得，但是因为加⼊ JCI的时间尚 短，⼈脉⽅⾯也较为浅，所以在执⾏中南⻢Area Project上还是⾯临了很多不可控因素的挑战。

Q2:⾯对挑战，都如何克服呢？

确保团队有充裕的沟通是很重要的。我很荣幸，

能邀请到2023年署理会⻓韩铭真⻘商和2023年秘 书⻓叶于菱⻘商加⼊筹委团队，给予了我⾮常⾮常 ⼤的助⼒。同样也要感谢2023年会⻓赖俊豪⻘商 和2024年会⻓林奕康⻘商给予了很多的⽀持，⿎ 励以及协助。除此之外，国际⻘年商会拥有⾮常多 的资源，也拥有 套⾮常有效率地系统，让新会员 们在仔细阅读与学习后也能驾轻就熟。例如开会是 借鉴了《Robert’s Rules of Order》 书⾥的 Parliamentary Procedures，会议，动议，投票 等都有⼀定的含义以及程序。

Q3:能给其他新会员什么建议呢？ 国际⻘年商会这 个平台注重传承，作为新会员 如果有什么不明⽩， 定要勇于发问。如果没有⼈ 愿意帮你，你必须⾃⼰想办法，问到对的⼈呢。

2024 Area Central South Academy (ACSA)，好让新上任的理事们更了解⾃⼰ 在2024年的岗位及责任。参与者不但能够从经验丰富的培训师和讲师那⾥学 习，同时他们分享了在理事们⻆⾊中取得成功的专业知识和⻅解。这两天⼀夜 的活动包含了 些沟通的课题，如何加强项⽬管理以及提升领导能⼒。整体⽽ ⾔，这两天 夜的活动让各个参与者都学会了 些很实⽤的⼩撇步以及更了解 有关国际⻘年商会的核⼼理念。

25% - Joined with Area Central South 13 LOs [HANDS OF HOPE HANDOVER] to purchase groceries for flood victims' families at Kampung Kangkar Tebrau & to purchase rack equipment for SJKC Kota Tinggi Pei Hwa.

75% - Fund transferred to the bank account of SJKC Kota Tinggi Pei Hwa for relevant expenses for renovation needs.
