1. KOLDO MITXELENA CULTURAL CENTRE About: Competition - Finalist | San Sebastian, Spain Architecture Office: Carbajal Architecture Office (In association with VAUMM Architects) Role: Architectural Assistant Data: 2018 The proposal aims to provide clarity in the circulation and distribution of uses in the building. To achieve a continuous space as opposed to the current one, which is excessively compartmentalised and contrary to the new functional requirements that exceed the strict requirements of a conventional library. To this end, an operation was intentionally limited to the central body, consisting of the demolition of the three original courtyards and the introduction of a nucleus of lifts and freight elevators that communicate all the floors and new emergency staircases, maintaining the faรงade corridors with their reading rooms and book storage areas. On the semi-basement floor and with independent access, the exhibition area is organised, spaces that are made present through a large circular opening.

2. SEVILLE AGRONOMIC UNIVERSITY About: Project Educational Building | Seville, Spain Architecture Office: Carbajal Architecture Office Role: Architectural Assistant Data: 2018 - 2019 The project respects the original building, almost without altering it, as an enhancement of an architectural complex that is a paradigm of the architecture of the Modern Movement of Seville. An independent annexe was built, with a defined and emphatic volumetry, with an autonomous scale that respects the building it serves as an extension and the use of a discreet formal language, providing a differentiated yet integrated identity in the complex. The volume, unitary and porous, seeks to ensure the resolution of the programme’s requests by incorporating perfectly defined functional packages and allowing for alternative circulations on each floor.

3. ADRIANO 27 APARTMENT. About: Hosing Project | Seville, Spain Architecture Office: Carbajal Architecture Office Role: Architectural Assistant Data: 2018 The building to be rehabilitated is a three-storey apartment house from the 19th century, with an attic, the ground floor destined to commercial premises with a mezzanine, premises belonging to the bullring and with access from the same, access portal to the houses and public access corridor to the square. The rest of the The property is for residential use, with one house on the first floor, two on the second floor and one in the attic. Its typology corresponds to a building with five corridors parallel to the faรงade, with the staircase located in the second of these crossings and with the last crossing occupied on the second floor by the upper gallery of the bulls.

4. MUNICIPAL AUDITORIUM OF RIVEIRA About: Competition | Riveira, Spain Architecture Office: Carbajal Architecture Office Role: Architectural Assistant Data: 2019
Our proposal for the new Municipal Auditorium of Riveira is born with the ambition of becoming a new cultural and tourist reference in the area. Its volume, inspired by the waves of the Galician coast and the sails of the boat in the city’s emblem, will be cut out in the nearby mountains, emerging on the horizon. We think that this shape, in connection with the history and nature of the city, will be a perfect background for Praza do Centenario, an appropiate transition between the city centre and the outskirts. Our intention is to provide Riveira with a culture machine, a new attractive and versatile facility that will revitalize and enhance this urban space of great importance for the town.

5. THEATRE IN LLODIO About: Competition | Llodio, Spain Architecture Office: Carbajal Architecture Office (In association with VAUMM Architects) Role: Architectural Assistant Data: 2019 The project tries to concentrate its volume close to Altzarrate Kalea, with the intention of reducing the visual impact over residential buildings. Avoiding offering large frontal planes that would limit the views from these houses, our proposal has been modeled in a way that strictly wrap the inner spaces, looking for fluid surfaces that would generate better and more dinamic visual relationships. The volume is, due to its function, hermetic. Its flat and blind facade emphasises the idea of an autonomous, abstract and forceful piece, an outstanding element in the residential context. Thanks to its position, raised and close to the railway tracks, the theatre will be present for people who daily use the train, becoming not only a urban reference but a memory of anonymous travelers that will link the building with the place.

6 . NEW LIBRARY FOR VILLAVERDE DISTRICT, MADRID About: Competition | Madrid, Spain Architecture Office: Carbajal Architecture Office Role: Architectural Assistant Data: 2018 The proposal takes advantage of the topography, allowing access to the three levels of the building. A larger volume raises its roof over the rest defining the main access. The glazed facade acts as a shelf and filters light softening the relationship between the interior and exterior. A porch in the southwest corner forms the access to the study room, which, thanks to the possibility of internal sectorization, facilitates its function outside the opening hours of the library. In the lower level, a second access is placed for multipurpose rooms and the garage entrance. In all three levels, the circulation core helps the sectorization of uses. It consists of stairs, a lift for users and a service lift controlled from the counters.
