2021 Sponsorship & Giving Opportunities

The 50 Plus Program’s mission is to provide unique opportunities and lifelong memories that inspire a healthier community. 50 Plus has been serving the needs of the metro area’s active older adults since 1971 - that’s 51 years! Everyday our programs are making a true impact on the people in our community but don’t just take our word for it...

Who We Are

"You all have made my year! The multi-talented and creative skills of JCPRD staff I've encountered through virtual programs this crazy year has been impressive. Thanks for all you do. Keep it up!"

“Thank you for doing such a wonderful job of making NHB so lovely! One of the best experiences of my life! Warm regards.”

In 2019, when running at full capacity, we provided approximately 1,000 recreational opportunities to 20,000 participants who engaged with us 55,000 times. In 2021, programs ran at limited capacity for much of the year. However, we were still able to connect with the older adults of Johnson County by offering 800 in-person programs to just over 7,000 individuals who participated more than 23,000 times. Additionally, approximately 2,600 people engaged with us more than 4,000 times through 150 virtual programs. The 50 Plus Department provides a wide range of both virtual and in-person classes, events, and programs throughout Johnson County. Below is a brief snapshot of what we offer. For a complete listing visit www.jcprd.com. • Classes: Participants benefit from wellness and fitness programs, dance classes and performances, fine arts lessons, computer classes and socializing in various other activities. • Special Events: Step Into Wellness, Veterans Day Celebration, Senior Follies and Regional Pickleball Tournament. • Day Trips: From nature walks to historical adventures to theatre productions, our participants live adventurous lives. • Domestic and International Travel: Recent destinations included Spain, England, Costa Rica, Germany, New England, Egypt and Italy, just to name a few. • Virtual Programs: All the benefits of our in-person programs from the comfort and convenience of home.
