Who’s Who in the Cast Maddox Bane (Harv Fremont/ Ensemble) is absolutely thrilled to be in his 6th TIP show and to finally get back to LIVE theatre! He will be a Senior at Park Hill High School next year. Along with TIP, he has performed at places all over the KC Metro, including Starlight Theatre, MTH, and The White Theatre at the J! You will be able to catch him as Finch later this summer at TIP’s Newsies and would like to thank his family and friends for their endless love and support! IG: @maddoxbane Sarah Bezek (Johnny Harmon) is abundantly grateful to return to this beautiful outdoor stage after a whopping 15 years (Peter Pan, ‘06)! Last seen in Sweet Charity, TIP indoors. Cameron Carlson (Sidney Bernstein/ Ensemble) has appeared in community and professional stage and film productions in Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, Illinois, and New York. NY Musical Festival. Krista is composer/ co-writer of Overture the Musical and The Sparkletones (opens 2022). Declan Franey (Russ Cochran/Ensemble) is ecstatic to perform in his fourth Park show! He recently graduated from Blue Valley Northwest and will be attending Northwestern University to pursue a degree in Film. He’d like to thank his amazing mother and Emily Roswold. Chris Halford (Oscar Shapiro) After some time off Chris is thrilled to be performing in what is now his 12th show here at Theatre in the Park. All his love to Terry and Courtney. Enjoy the show and thank you for sharing your evening with us! Luke Harwerth (Brick Hawvermale/ Ensemble) This is Luke’s Park debut. A graduate of Calvary University, Luke is Operations Manager & Marketing Director for Splitlog Coffee. He’d like to thank Miller Marley, his family, & his community.
Paul Harwerth (Roy Stetson/Ensemble) is a theatre arts graduate of Calvary University. He excels as a marketing specialist: videographer for Emery Sapp & Sons. He’d like to thank Miller Marley for continuing to train him, and his family and community for encouraging him to continue to dance and perform. Brian Houchin (Lieutenant Frank Cioffi) After eight years in Colorado, Brian is thrilled to be back in Kansasland and back on the stage. Curtains will be Brian’s 10th show at TIP, and he is dedicating his performance to the memory of director Greg Shaw. Claire Kennard (Bambi Bernét) is pursuing a BFA in Music Theatre at Wichita State University. You may have seen her around town in DeSoto High School’s productions of Mamma Mia, Little Shop of Horrors, Guys and Dolls, Footloose, and more. Nancy Kruse (Jessica Cranshaw/ Ensemble) feels extremely blessed to
be back on stage as a part of Curtains. She was last seen in Titanic with the Barn Players. Thanks to her family, Scott & the entire production team for their love & support! Jordan Lewis (Daryl Grady/Ensemble) is 20 years old and has just graduated from JCCC. He plans to attend UMKC in the fall. He’s excited to get back into performing and loves spending his time writing music and being with his friends. Tori Loepp (Niki Harris) considers it an honor and a joy to be back in show business this summer! She teaches music at Mission Trail Elementary. Thanks to all her friends she continues to drag to the theatre. It’s not that bad, right!? Hewleek McKoy (Randy Dexter/ Ensemble) This is Hewleek’s 8th production at TIP. Hewleek has been doing community theatre around Kansas City since 2015 in roles such as Bride in Titanic (The Barn), Zeke in HSM 1&2 (TIP), Amos in Big Fish (Faust Theatre), and Walter Raleigh in Something Rotten (The J). He Graduated with his BFA from Emporia State in 2019. Hewleek is excited to bring some positive to the community after a year of uncertainty. Margo Mikkelson (Carmen Bernstein) is excited to be back onstage at Theatre in the Park. She has appeared in shows at The Barn, MTKC, MTH and Faust Theatre. Margo is also a Music Director, Broadway cabaret performer, and accompanist. Enjoy the show! Phoebe Mock (Jane Setler/Ensemble) was last seen as “ Sven” in TIP’s Frozen Jr. She’s active in Olathe East theater and is a member of KC Accapella. She dances at The Culture House and Miller Marley. Favorite roles include “Miss Honey” and “The Dowager Empress.”
Casey Renfrow (Christopher Belling) joins Theatre in the Park for the first time. Thank you to my family, Jennifer, Jack, Sam & Ben! So happy to see you, the live audience, back on the lawn! Laugh loud & have a blast! Enjoy the Night!! Torrie Shelly (Arlene Barruca/Ensemble) grew up on the stage in Warrensburg, MO receiving her theatrical, dance and voice training at Center Stage Academy of the Performing Arts. She was a two time Irene Ryan Nominee through State Fair Community College in 20192020. Ashley Strella (Marj Cook/Ensemble) is absolutely thrilled to be making her TIP debut! Previous credits include Grease (StageRight Performing Arts). She is a junior at Wichita State pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre with minors in Dance and Exercise Science. She serves as President for the School of Performing Arts Student Council (SPACO) and as Choreographer for Shockappella. You can learn more about her by following her @ashleystrella. Carson Tate (Aaron Fox) is excited for his fourth season at TIP. Previous acting credits include Into the Woods (Rapunzel’s Prince) with TIP, and Assassins (Leon Czolgosz) with JCCC. Carson would like to thank his friends and family for their continued support and encouragement. Jackson Tomlin (Bobby Pepper/Asst. Choreographer) is overjoyed to have gotten the opportunity to Asst. Choreograph and perform in Curtains! While not performing, Jackson is the Asst. Director of Choreography at Stage Right Performing Arts. Catch him performing later this summer in Newsies! MaryAnn Traxler (Roberta Wooster/ Ensemble) After 3 years singin’ and dancin’ on a cruise ship, missing the Kansas sunset, MaryAnn is thrilled about returning to both the TIP stage and LIVE theatre this summer! She hopes her joy and gratitude reaches you in your seat! Sam Wise (Detective O’Farrell/ Ensemble) is so excited to be returning to the Park for his third season! He’d like to thank his friends, family, and the cast for making this summer amazing!
Who’s Who in the Orchestra Lee Finch (Trombone II) Music Ed degree, then 25 years in the Army, then 24 years an Army contractor, retirement in 2018. Performance background: Frankfurt German American Choir, KC Symphony Chorus, Orchestre Surreal, KC Wind Symphony, FMO Big Band. My first priority: musical/talented family.
Joe Gall (Reed III) is happy to be returning to the TIP for another great show. Joe would like to thank his wife, Rebekah, for her continued love and support. Chase Grafton (Trombone I) is excited to be performing with the Theater in the Park for the first time. He has BS/ MS degrees in Physics and works as an Engineer at Honeywell FM&T. He is married with two sons. Dan Graham (Trumpet II) is playing his 10th show at TIP. He just missed getting to play Curtains a few years ago and has been hoping it would come back around again and give him another chance. He enjoys the musical’s combination of comedy and heart. Holly Hague (Reed II) has played for musicals for over 30 years and loves it! Professional shows include The King and I (Metropolitan Ensemble Theatre) and Cabaret (Padgett Productions). She also plays in the Dan Riggs Big
Band. Community theaters include TIP, Leawood Stage Co., and The White Theatre. Colvin Hooser (Guitar) Colvin’s musical journey spans from Grammy award winners, to the Andy Williams Band, to American Idol Top Ten Finalists and too many musicals to count. Colvin has a Master of Music Degree and is an instructor for Barton Community College. Derek Lee (Percussion) is 19 years old and currently studying accounting at MWSU. He enjoys listening to music, playing piano and marimba, and sleeping. He also prefers dogs over cats and has a slight addiction to Dr. Pepper. Anne Sneller (Reed II) Curtains is Anne’s 24th show at TIP and her 53rd show at area theaters. She also plays in Kansas City Wind Symphony, Kansas City Civic Orchestra, American Legion Band, her church and subs in other area bands and orchestras. Anne is so happy to be able to play in groups again!
Deana Wagoner (Keyboard II) is thrilled to be back at the Park with live theatre! She has performed in the pit with numerous theatres in the KC area and will be playing the first four productions at TIP this year. Enjoy this exciting production of Curtains! Mark Williams (Drums) is currently a student and percussionist at Missouri Western State University. This is his first time in a pit orchestra and he is grateful for his family and friends for always encouraging him.

Marsha Canaday (Music Director, Conductor, & Accompanist) Over a 20-year period, Marsha has spent many summers accompanying, music directing, and/or conducting shows at TIP. They are some of her fondest memories. She has also been involved in other area theater groups. She is excited to be a part of Kacy’s team for his directorial debut and thanks the cast, crew, staff, and orchestra for their hard work. She enjoys retirement, time with her grandkids, and sharing life with her husband of 49 years. Kacy Christenson (Director & Choreographer) is thrilled to be directing and choreographing for live
theatre again! TIP choreography credits: Annie, Mary Poppins, Shrek, The Wiz, and Adventures of Tom Sawyer. Local choreography: Anything Goes, Peter Pan, Cabaret and the Plaza Lighting Ceremony. This year also marks Kacy’s 19th season choreographing competitive showchoir, winning awards for Best Show Design, Best Choreography and Grand Champion. By day, Kacy is a Physical Therapist Assistant at St Luke’s Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation. Sophia Hillman (Asst. Stage Manager) is entering her sophomore year at Wichita State University majoring in Musical Theatre Performance with a minor in dance, and is overjoyed to be back at the park for her third year. She is very excited to be working on such a striking, contemporary piece with her Theatre In The Park family. Sophia
would like to thank Kacy, Catherine, and Tim for providing her with this wonderful opportunity and always trusting her to help put on the best shows possible at the park! Catherine Lewis (Stage Manager) is Catherine just can’t say no to spending her summers at TIP. She is especially happy to be a part of Kacy’s directorial debut. She has stage managed and assistant stage managed at TIP since 2011. Favorite shows include Shrek, Mary Poppins, Ragtime, Annie, and You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown. Her day job is teaching English at Olathe North High School and it is a real treat to have so many former students involved in this production. Eric Luchen (Scenic Designer) is an award winning Chicago based scenic designer who is thrilled to be back in his hometown working with Theatre in the Park for the first time. After attending the Scenic Design graduate program at Purdue Univeristy he relocated to Chicago in 2010. Since then he has worked on over 60 productions ranging from Storefront to Broadway. Upcoming projects and more of his work can be viewed on his website: www.ericluchen.com. Andrew Ralston (Costume Designer/ Coordinator) is delighted to be working with TIP this summer! Normally, you can see Andrew as the Residential Costume Designer at Helen Hocker Theater in Topeka, Kansas. Previous credits include: Alice in Wonderland Jr., Oklahoma, The Importance of Being Earnest, and he’s excited to begin designing for Sense and Sensibility and Starmites in Topeka this summer. Mary Williams (Costume Designer/ Coordinator) This is Mary’s second run in with Curtains but this time, she’s
backstage rather than onstage! Past design credits: Mamma Mia!, BoeingBoeing, Grand Hotel, The Glass Menagerie, Disenchanted, Heathers: The Musical. Before quarantine, she was the interim asst. costume shop manager at the KCRep, on wardrobe team for touring shows, the KC Lyric Opera, and the KC Ballet. Coming up: Mary going on a trip with her new pup and she shall see where life will take her once more theatre opens back up!
