Who’s Who in the Cast Krista Eyler (Connie) performs locally and regionally —Fishtank Theatre, KCAT, New Theatre, Chestnut Fine Arts Center, MTH, Barn Players, White Theatre, and the NY Musical Festival. Krista can be seen this summer in Freaky Friday at the New Theatre. IG: @kristaeylerkc Jennifer Renfrow (Doris) is thrilled to return to the TIP stage in this fantastic new work. Jennifer is the owner of Center Stage Academy of the Performing Arts in Warrensburg where she works with hundreds of kids each week to develop their passion for the arts. Leah is the director of student ministries at Resurrection OP and Co-director of Theatre at KC Christian Schools. MaryAnn Traxler (Danette) grew up in Kansas, and singing at the piano beside her grandmother, who taught her everything she knows. She is honored to be telling Danette’s story, and hopes you fall in love with it as much as she has. Reed Uthe (Augie) has performed on many area stages, but this is first time in an original production. Many thanks to Barb and Krista for the opportunity. Reed is also Director of Theatre at Blue Valley West High School.

Who’s Who on the Production Staff Kat Allison (Co-Choreographer) is so thrilled to involved in her second show with TIP. She has had experience in multiple areas of theatrical production, most notably: choreography, props design, and performance. She also works as the Media Marketing Specialist for Funcertainty Box LLC, a startup board game company. Katherine would like to thank Valerie for being an amazing friend and mentor over the last 5 years, and Krista and Barb for welcoming her onto The Sparkletones team. Patricia Berning (Costume Designer/ Coordinator) is thrilled to be working on her sixth show at the park! As a lifelong sewer, she began her costuming journey doing dance costumes over 15 years ago. In 2014 she began working with the theatre department at Shawnee Mission South and is now the Costumes Coordinator
for their shows. In 2019 she won the Broadway world regional “Best Costume Design non-professional for her work on Matilda at TIP. She hopes you enjoy this nostalgic look back in time. Marsha Canaday (Music Director/ Accompanist) was beyond thrilled to be asked to be a part of The Sparkletones. She is grateful for the opportunity to work alongside Krista and Barb and with a stellar cast. She feels a kinship with this storyline because of growing up singing with her 3 sisters a lot. She has music directed for TIP over the past 20 years and in other theaters in the Kansas City area and that has brought her a lot of fulfillment. She is thankful for her husband, her biggest supporter, and their life of almost 50 years together.

Matthew Koehler (Production Stage Manager) steps behind the curtain as Stage Manager for his first TIP Production. Matthew works as a stage manger regionally in Kansas City with noted favorites such as The Coterie, The Black Box, and Spinning Tree Theatre. He would like to thank Jennifer, Krista, Taylor, Barb, his friends and his family for their support, laughter, and love. Valerie Martin (Choreographer) Choreography: Theatre in the Park, The Barn Players, OCTA, Sharp Women, Shawnee Mission West, Blue Valley West. Up next: directing A New Brain at OCTA, choreographing The Addams Family at Leawood Stage Company. Special Thanks: Supers, Family, Kat for her creativity, and Krista for writing her a tap song. Barbara Nichols (Director) Barb’s first directing job was Oklahoma! for Theatre in the Park in 1988 and she is
very happy to still be working with them today. Past shows include West Side Story, Evita, 1776, Beauty and the Beast, Les Miserables and Once. Barb & Krista also wrote Overture which won “Best of Fest Audience Award” at the 2019 New York Musical Festival. Thanks to Krista, ‘Here’s to us, who’s like us? Damn few.” Taylor Zimmerman (Asst. Stage Manager) This is Taylor’s first show with TIP! She holds a BFA in Musical Theatre and Design Technology from Avila University and an MFA in Scenography from KU. Her previous credits include stage managing Edward Tulane and costume designing the 10-Minute Musicals at Spinning Tree Theatre. She also set designed for The White Theatres The Last Night of Ballyhoo. Taylor would like to thank her partner in crime Matthew for everything. Enjoy the show!
