Understanding how Architecture can bring impact to the community, engage with local users, and learn a structure system that able to provide longer span for sporthall and swimming pool programs.

The project is located in Pershing Square, 532 S Olive St, Los Angeles, CA 90013. The Site is around 5 Acre.

ASSIGNMENT DESCRIPTION

Understanding Type V constrction on a Type I construction as the podium. How to utilize the shear wall, learn how the assemblies of the project and consider the developement of the mixed use project.

PROJECT SITE

The property is located at the northeast corner of the intersection at Hollywood Blvd. and Vermont Ave in Hollywood. The site currently supports a carwash and two residential buildings that will be demolished for the new development. The alley dividing the site will be relocated to the east edge of of 4638 Prospect Ave. The site has 142’ of street frontage along Hollywood Blvd., 139’ of frontage on Vermont, and 195’ of frontage along Prospect. The relocated alley to the east is 15’ wide and may provide vehicular access. The site is to be assumed flat in the design. The parcel is zoned C2-1D and is in sub areas B (FAR 1.5:1) and C (FAR 3:1)o f the Station Area Neighborhood Plan. The building height limitations are to be assumed as per SNAP (75’ in subarea C, and 50’ in sub area B) with an 18’ podium commercial base included.

ASSIGNMENT DESCRIPTION

Learning from Irving Gill, propose an architecture of well-being to serve and celebrate the everyday needs and rituals of the agricultural community at Cal Poly Pomona.

PROJECT SITE

The site is located at Cal Poly Pomona property, behind Interim Design Center Building 89. The site is fruit processing facility for Cal Poly Pomona Agriculture Program, this place is mainly processes citrus and oranges. The site is very old and the main goal of this project is to replace the existing site with a new and more modern building with living spaces, such as bedrooms, living rooms, faminly and kids room. The site also will be added with offices for scholars and farmers to enable them to reseach more about the plants, fruits, and bees that are naturally live there. The farmer will be able to bring their family and live at site, making them easier to maintain the orange and citrus trees that are adjacent to the site.
