REDUCE SINGLE USE, REDUCE OCEAN PLASTIC
W H E N YO U C H O OS E E VA S O LO TO G O, YO U S U P P O RT TH E F I G H T FO R A P L ASTI C- F R E E O C E A N Eva Solo has been doing its bit to minimise single-use packaging since 2012 with its reusable water bottles and thermo cups. Now, Eva Solo is also engaging in the fight against plastic pollution littering the oceans through collaborating with the ReSea Project. Eva Solo has committed to financing the collection of 3.5 tonnes of plastic from the sea in 2021. So make the switch from using single-use plastic bottles and coffee cups to a reusable solution while helping to clean up the oceans at the same time.
The ReSea Project is a Danish organisation on a mission to clean up the oceans by removing plastics and recycling it, while raising awareness of proper waste disposal. The ReSea Project’s solution contributes to the circular economy and is run by local communities in Indonesia. It is a social initiative involving the fishermen and local communities, and it has the advantage of creating jobs and improving the living conditions of the communities involved while at the same time contributing to plastic recycling so that less new plastic needs to be produced.

LEMON DROP MARTINI 2 drinks
LEMON-BASIL FIZZ MOCKTAIL 1 drink
SUGAR RIM 50 ml sugar Rind of half an unwaxed/unsprayed lemon
SYRUP 100 ml water, 100 ml sugar
Rinse and dry the lemon. Grate the rind and mix with the sugar. Spread the sugar mixture on a plate. Rub the rim of each glass with a little lemon juice, and invert the glass and dip the rim into the sugar mixture to coat the entire rim with sugar. LEMONADE Juice of 3 large lemons (approx. 100 ml) 50 ml light cane sugar 200 ml water or sparkling mineral water Squeeze the lemons, sieving off the pips and the pulp. Mix the juice with the sugar and water and stir until the sugar has dissolved. If you prefer to use sparkling mineral water, wait until the sugar has dissolved in the lemon juice before adding the water. DRINK 50 ml vodka, 300 ml lemonade, ice cubes for shaking/stirring the drink, lemon twists Mix the vodka and lemonade with ice in a shaker. Shake for 5-10 seconds, and pour into glasses while straining the ice cubes. If you are using a sparkling lemonade, there is no need to shake, but gently stir the drink with a stirrer and then strain the ice cubes before serving the drinks. Garnish with lemon twists.
DRINK 4-5 fresh basil leaves 2-3 lemon wedges 2 tbsp freshly squeezed lemon juice 2 tbsp syrup Sparkling mineral water Ice cubes SYRUP Heat the water and sugar in a saucepan. Bring to the boil and simmer for 5-6 minutes. Leave to cool. DRINK Rinse the basil leaves and the lemon. Cut 2-3 lemon wedges and put them in a sturdy glass together with the basil leaves. Use the handle of a ladle or mojito muddler to press the lemon wedges and basil well. Add the cooled syrup together with the lemon juice and ice cubes. Top up with sparkling mineral water to taste. Possibly garnish with extra basil leaves and lemon slices.
FRESH LEMONADE WITH LEMON & LEMONGRASS The peel of 1 organic lemon 250 ml water 250 ml sugar 1 stalk lemongrass The juice of 3 lemons
TIP If you’re in a hurry, you can buy a ready-made lemon lemonade, for example sparkling ‘Reine des Limonades – Citron’.
Cut long strips from the lemon peel. Halve the lemongrass stalk lengthwise and knock the strips lightly with a knife handle. Bring the water to the boil. Add the lemon peel and lemongrass and simmer for 3-4 minutes. Add the sugar while stirring the liquid. Once the sugar has dissolved, remove the sugar water from the heat and leave to cool. Squeeze the lemons and add the juice to the cooled sugar water. Sieve the lemonade and pour it into a completely clean bottle or container. Dilute with water to taste, and serve cold with lots of ice cubes and a slice of lemon.
