Benefits of Yoga

The famous Indian breathing exercise of Yoga has been around since ancient times. These exercises have been practiced since generations and is widely practiced in many countries because of the revolutionary benefits it provides. It has become so popular and effective, that it continues to spread to countries all over the world. Many people from different ethnic backgrounds have received a lot of physical and mental benefits by practicing a few simple yoga techniques every day. Especially people suffering from various physical ailments like back pain, neck pain, etc. have experienced remarkable healings only after a few weeks of practicing a fixed set of yoga techniques. Below we have mentioned some of other common benefits of yoga exercises. 1. Instant physical and mental relaxation: The basic yoga pose of sitting on a mat with your legs folded, palms on your lap and back straight leaves a calming effect on the body and mind. Whenever you feel pressurized or under a lot of stress and want to feel completely relaxed, you can sit in the above pose, take deep breaths and slowly breathe out. Within minutes, your whole body will feel calmer and you will begin to think more clearly. 2. Improves heart condition: Yoga is very beneficial for people suffering from a bad heart condition or heart stroke victims. The breathing techniques that are used in yoga lowers a person’s blood pressure resulting in a more relaxed state. The heart rate slows down and starts beating normally again. If you want to keep this vital part of your body strong and healthy, practicing yoga is a sure way to do that. 3. Strengthens posture: The practice of yoga requires strict discipline and concentration. A person has to sit with their backs straight so that the lungs can expand and contract freely. Once sitting in this state becomes a habit, you will notice an improvement in your posture and get freedom from some neck and back pain. You will not

slump while walking, but instead your back will remain straight (making you look taller). This improved posture will even benefit your back in the long run as it gets strengthened, thereby reducing back pain and fatigue felt on the spine. 4. Helps develop more stamina and energy: Many of the various yoga poses need some amount of energy and flexibility to carry out. As you continue to practice these poses on a daily basis, you will burn a lot of unwanted fat and calories in your body. What’s more, you will gradually develop more stamina allowing you to stay fresh and active for longer periods. The development of muscles and energy levels is one of the major benefits of yoga exercises. drjeanlouisbenae.com
