BELLTOWN TU N N EL BATTERY & FIRST, SEATTLE
Lively plaza in the heart of Belltown provides recreational and gathering space for residents and visitors. A dynamic waterfall adjusts water flow through the seasons, surging in the rainy season and slowing to a trickle in drier months. Rubble from viaduct demolition are visual remnants of the site’s historical transportation infrastructure.
LI VI N G M E M O R IAL VA HEALING GARDEN, SEATTLE
Flexible memorial green wall allows patients, visitors, and staff a chance to commemorate lives dedicated to the military. Strolling paths meander through abstracted rolling mountain forms, a large fountain area allows for gathering and storytelling, and an intimate interior garden provides space for group meetings and peaceful relaxation.
[Designed as part of a team with Jeni Chan and Kevin Van Meter. Graphics created by author, model created as a group.]
