Check the frame construction of the leather furniture, whether you are purchasing wood accent leather items or deep seating furniture. It is best to choose a piece made using kiln dried hardwood or hardwood laminates. The hardwood laminates should be stapled, glued and/or power screwed. All should feature miter cut joint frames and double blocked corners to ensure the dependability and strength of the piece. Any pieces made using plywood, softwood, particleboard or nails need to be avoided as these are indicators of inferior design and material. Springs should either be of the eight-way hand tied version or tempered springs. This helps to prevent the furniture from sagging and improves the appearance. Any furniture which makes use of rubber band springs or elastic webbing should be avoided as they can stretch over time or break. Full foam padding is the preferred choice as it is more resilient. Many manufacturers choose to use cheap cotton batting under the foam to cut costs. Over time, this can lead to the furniture sagging, drooping or losing its shape. The batting and foam may tear also. Go with 100% top grain leather. Many consumers don't know what this means. Top grain is the outermost 3/64" hide surface. Over time, the top grain becomes more beautiful and it is naturally supple, durable and resistant to water. Make sure only top grain has been used throughout the piece. Some furniture is made using split grain leather or imitation leather on the back and sides to save costs. The problem is these materials often fade more rapidly so the look of the entire piece suffers.
Consider the above when choosing to ensure you get Quality Leather Furniture. Ask about any warranty that comes with the furniture also. A leather cinema lounger or leather ottomans make great additions to the home, but quality must be the top priority. Inferior pieces won't be of any benefit.
