Self analytical essay This year in yearbook I learned a lot. A lot about myself, teamwork, and

people in general. I found that I can work with others when I want too. Something differently I would do would be to go back and take this class to begin with, and like go to yearbook camp. That would probably give me a better, and different editor position. There is a lot of pros and cons to being a leader. Though my position is not all that much about being a leader, I have learned it's not that easy. People do not like being told what to do and how to do it, so I have learned you have to be especially careful about that. I do not really have a leadership style. I guess I try to lead by example. I think that the best bosses aren’t scared to do work that is below them. So I am always willing to help other team leaders with their captions and headlines. It works pretty well for me, there is nothing I would change. In my future in the Navy I will use these skills to help myself grow and teach others. This semester I learned that deadlines and timing is extremely important. In the future I will use these skills to learn how to be more prepared for deadlines and such. And next semester I will change how I went about deadlines. Most times I, and others, go in with an attitude or anger toward it. And that should change. Journalism ethics is extremely important in yearbook. You should never change around people's quotes, or put in your opinions. I am not a huge asset to this publication this year. I love yearbook and being in this class but it would go on without me. I am pretty dedicated though, on our Saturday deadline I took the SAT in the morning. So it was a really long morning, but I still came. And also, I will do anything to help anyone out. I wrote almost all of Chloe and Meghan’s captions on two of their spreads. This semester the biggest hardship I have faced has been myself. I have a special way to get on peoples nerves, and people especially get on my nerves. If these problems arose again, I would find a way to separate myself from the situation and calm myself down. That is also my greatest weakness.

Refection one

My most significant contribution has been senior ads. Hunter and I did a really good job with organizing, placing, designing and marking all of the senior ads. I am the most proud of how well organized I was compared to last years senior ads editor. I have not done much to shape this publication, but I probably helped reduce the amount of mad parents at the end of the semester. What we would do was download them, then placing them in the correct category such as their size. Then we named them. After that, we would place them on the page. After it was placed, we would tag the add to indicate that it was placed. This will help reduce misplaced ads and such.
