International Fair of Machines & Tools for the Woodworking Industry

Naznačajniji događaj u sferi dizajna, proizvodnje i distribucije nameštaja u ovom delu Evrope, 56. Međunarodni sajam nameštaja, opreme i unutrašnje dekoracije, uz 56. Međunarodni sajam mašina, alata i repromaterijala iz oblasti drvne industrije, utemeljen je kao vodeći generator domaćeg izvoza i mesto promocije najboljih ideja i proizvoda iz regiona. U fokusu sajma su kompanije i proizvođači posvećeni dizajnu, kvalitetu i funkcionalnosti nameštaj i ugledni dizajneri iz cele Evrope. Izložbeni program obuhvata nameštaj svih vrsta i namena, proizvode za uređenje enterijera i unutrašnju dekoraciju kao i mašine, alate i repromaterijale koji se koriste u kompleksnoj industriji nameštaja. Veliki broj kompanija po prvi put će nastupiti u našoj zemlji na ovogodišnjem izdanju sajma koji je tradicionalno i centralno mesto za sagledavanje kompletne produkcije domaćih proizvođača. Oba događaja neguju jasnu biznis orijentaciju i od velikog su značaja za domaću i regionalnu privredu. Za strane investitore tokom protekle decenije drvna industrija Srbije bila je jedan od najatraktivnijih sektora za ulaganje. Sve veća orijentacija Sajma ka biznisu daje značajne rezultate. Sajam potencira ulaganja i saradnju i sublimira iskustva investitora, domaćih privrednika i međunarodnih institucija na različitim projektima u ovoj industriji. Uz kolekcije brojnih izlagača iz zemlje i sveta, posetioci će tokom sajamskih dana moći da uživaju i tokom tri posebna događaja posvećena dizajnu koja su se već ustalila u sajamskoj agendi tokom prethodnih godina. Izložba mladih dizajnera pod nazivom "Young Designers Exhibition" okupiće mlade i perspektivne autore koji su dosadašnjim radom zaslužili šansu da predstave svoje nove, kreativne ideje i proizvode. Prošlogodišnja novina bio je događaj pod nazivom "Design Talks", razgovori sa dizajnerima i arhitektama, bitnih aktera u industriji nameštaja, koji prenose vlastita profesionalna iskustva, a koji se pokazao kao pun pogodak, te će i ove godine biti organizovan u istom formatu. Na kraju manifestacije internacionalni žiri dodeliće nagrade “Zlatni ključ” najuspešnijim izlagačima za 2018. godinu. Od ove godine, dodeljivaće se još jedna, nova nagrada, “Sajamski ključ”. Okupljanje tima internacionalnih eksperata koji odlučuje o nagradi predstavlja težnju da se celokupni sajam sagleda iz međunarodne perspektive, odnosno kao relevantna institucija na evropskoj mapi. Internacionalni karakter, brojne premijere i najava trendova koji nas tek očekuju na domaćem i regionalnom tržištu, pozicioniraju Beogradski sajam nameštaja na evropskoj mapi najbitnijih događaja. Učesnicima 56. Međunarodnog sajma nameštaja, opreme i unutrašnjedekoracije i 56. Međunarodnog sajma mašina, alata i repromaterijala iz oblasti drvne industrije želimo uspešan nastup i nove poslovne aranžmane, a gostima Beograda i posetiocima sajma želimo dobrodošlicu.

Uvod / Intro

The most important event within furniture design, manufacturing and distribution in this part of Europe, the 56th International Fair of Furniture, Equipment and Interior Decoration, with the 56th International Fair of Woodworking Machines, Tools and Production Materials has been founded as the leading generator of the local exports and the promotion venue for the best regional ideas and products. The Fair focus is on the companies and manufacturers devoted to design, quality and functioning of furniture and respected designers from the whole Europe. The exhibiting product range includes furniture of all types and purposes, the interior furnishing and decoration products, as well as machines, tools and production materials used in the complex furniture industry. Many companies will participate for the of the Fair being the traditional and central venue for review of the complete production of the local manufacturers. Both events foster clear business orientation and they are of great importance for the local and regional economy. For international investors Serbian woodworking industry was in the past decade one of the most attractive sectors for investment. The increasing Fair orientation to the business provides out investments and cooperation and sublimes the experiences of the investors, local businessmen and international institutions on various projects in this industry. Beside the collections of many exhibitors from Serbia and the world, during the Fair days the visitors will be able to enjoy also three special events devoted to design, already included in the Fair agenda in the previous years. The Young Designers Exhibition will gather young and perspective authors who deserved in their previous work the opportunity to feature their new creative ideas and products. Last year’s innovation was the event called Design Talks, the talks with designers and furniture industry, who transfer their own professional experiences. It was proved to be the right thing to do and thus it will be organized at the same format also this year. At the end of the event, the international jury will grant the Golden Key awards to the most successful exhibitors in 2018. Since this year, another award, a new one, Fair Key, will be granted, as well. Gathering of the team of international experts who decide about the award is the wish to let the entire Fair be seen from the international perspective, i.e. as a relevant institution at the European map. The international character, many premieres and trend announcement waiting for us at the local and regional market position Belgrade Furniture Fair at events. We wish successful participation and new business deals to the exhibitors at the 56th International Fair of Furniture, Equipment and Interior Decoration and the 56th International Fair of Woodworking Machines, Tools and Production Materials and welcome Belgrade guests and the Fair visitors.

I think a great, brave and very diplomatic job was done. Owing to this, the exhibition stands well again. The key for this event is the presence of major companies, which will show their products. In my opinion all important people are here. I want to congratulate to the whole team – all of them are full of enthusiasm, energetic, incredibly kind, even the cleaning woman included herself by the question if she could help somehow, which is the real rarity at present. I think it should go on like this and in three to four years I believe this fair may be within the Top 10.

I see the Design Oriented Fair as huge potential. Furniture should be seen as a form part of general culture and society. Thus, only the furniture distributers, manufacturers and designers are not responsible for the general condition of the living culture and thereby also the society, but first of all the educational institutions and all media in general.

In a way, the Furniture Fair point is not in presentation but comparison. You cannot estimate what you want or expect to be offered if you have no idea of your own about something and slightly doubt someone else’s one. I assume it is like this also with the furniture. Only when you have all options at one place, actually visible, the things and criteria get the increased point and importance, since you have the orientation points for each type of resourcefulness – in time, space, practice, comfort, esthetics… Thus, the Furniture Fair is an opportunity that should not be missed.

The Fair is bigger than I thought it would be, in the positive sense! It is clear to me it is in the development stage, but it is clearly it goes to a very good direction. I am aware of the experience of the trade fair in Prague and the twenty years long transition it passed. Now, when all those international guests arrive from Milan, London, the Netherlands… They are all delighted due to the fact the long term work was successful. It is really so radical change, for which I believe will happen in Belgrade in a few years.

Design is more present and has got more functions than ever. It is also a very strong communication tool. From the sneakers we wear, the chairs we sit on, the car we drive, someone shaped all this skillfully. The paradox is that it is at the same time somehow invisible, probably just due to the presence everywhere. We are currently in the ‘purgatory’. Slightly painful process, but I believe we accepted this as necessity at the moment and that’s why I believe in the bright future.

We understood the Fair as the venue of gathering the best Regional and International companies – as the venue of design connection to the economy. And we turned our interpretations into the action. Everything had to be changed radically, modernized and taken to some ‘more normal’ situation as it is in the big systems and trade fairs, such as IMM in Cologne, which is very important, or Salone del Mobile from Milan.

Matteo Ragni je istaknuti arhitekta, dizajner i predavač čiji je raznovrstan rad u sferi industrijskog dizajna nagrađivan mnogo puta i nalazi se u svim bitnim publikacijama širom sveta. Tvorac je TobeUs, brenda ručno pravljenjih drvenih automobilčića, sa kojim organizuje brojne radionice i izložbe, dobitnik je Nacionalne nagrade za inovacije za dizajn drvenih naočara W-eye. Jedan od atraktivnijih projekata je Moscardino, biorazgradiva viljuška koja trajno pripada Dizajn kolekciji muzeja MOMA u Njujorku.

Matteo Ragni is a distinguished architect, designer and lecturer, whose diverse work within industrial design was awarded many times and it He created TobeUs, the brand of handmade wooden small cars. He organizes many workshops and exhibitons with it. He is the winner of the National Innovation Award for W-eye wooden glasses design. One of more attractive projects is Moscardino, biodegradable fork, which permanently belongs to the Design Collection of MOMA Museum in New York.

They support the idea design and communication have to be logical, sincere and intuitive. Osnivač je studija Remix sa kojim izvodi mnogobrojne projekte u oblasti arhitekture i dizajna enterijera, kao i organizaciju festivala Mikser design expo 2009 i Mikser 2010. Sa studijom Kolege, čiji je takođe jedan od osnivača, realizuje veliki broj projekata među kojima se ističu koncepti za enterijere Supermarket concept store-a, Bistro Grad hometown food, TIKE / Nike sport vision prodavnicu i pivnicu Dogma.

Marko Basarovski is a distinguished architect and Creative Director from Belgrade, whose continuous presence and strong recognition in work impact the city landscape creation. He is the founder of Remix studio and carries out many projects within architecture and interior design, as well as the organization of the Festival Mixer Design Expo 2009 and Mixer 2010. With Kolege studio, where he is also one of the founders, he executes many projects, among them the outstanding ones are the concepts for the interior space of Supermarket Concept Store, Bistro Grad Hometown Food, TIKE / Nike Sport Vision shop and the beer hall Dogma.
