I am an architect. I am interested in the way how life flows through space and in process in which it creates forms, structures and functions. Architects role seems to be translating and converting peoples needs in to forms. I believe that dialogue which is base and most important ingredient in this case can lasts after the end of process of creation. I believe that good architecture conduct dialogue with its user.

Google office in Cracow. Located in the strict centre, in the corner of the main square, occupy two heritage buildings, where bottom floors are dated to XIV century. Whole complex was spread over 5 stories in two buildings where each one have different height. A maze of offices, corridors, full of places where you can hide and draw something on the wall. Kitchens, coffee points, phone booths are completing this complicated yet brilliant project. After finishing the first floor google decided to abandon the project...

Kristiansand, Norway Commercial One of the most interesting tasks I had during my employment in Asplan Viak in Norway was creation of fasade system of a new swimming pool located in Krystiansand. The idea was to transform the game of the shadows generated by tree leaves on a sunny day, into the architectural form, so that the building would blend into nearby park. To achieve this the elevation was created with the vertical elements set in three rows. They were mounted in different angles (15o, 35o, 90o ) When the sun is moving or we are walking around the building some parts of elevation became more transparent some more closed, and interesting play of shadows appears. To make this effect even more noticeable the
vertical elements are located with different spaces between them. Complete building consists of a pool, a sports hall and a hotel. This significant size project gave me an occasion to became familiar with Teamwork project created by many people working on different fields very often in different parts of Norway. This experience is valuable addition to my knowledge of large scale projects development. I had an occasion also to work with different parts of the building and create both details and technical drawings, as well as concept designs, and visualizations of internal spaces.

When I was asked to prepare a project of Sports hall I was in the middle of discovering the Oskar Hansens Open Form theory. In many ways this project is my attempt to implement his ideas in real life situation. Sports hall was about to emerge in close neighborhood of two schools in the end of the axis marked by road leading to schools' buildings and big play field localized a bit further. Hall was going to be element ending axis and road, placed in very exposed place. Simplicity and elegance of the form was highly expected. Place where the sports hall location had another very interesting factor which allowed to propose custom solution extending facility functions. Small road, connection between school area and play field located in th woods, was elevated, more or less on the level of first floor of the designed building. This allowed to propose direct access from this road to tribunes located in the Sports Hall. Glazed wall and simple outdoor tribunes are allowing people passing by to get interested by events taking place inside, and provide place for watching spectacle taking place inside. From this point I was thing about new building as “Theater of life. I wanted to make a scene and a background for people's everyday activities. I proposed exceeding the glazed wall on the side of the building, onto the from elevation. Only the material was changed to the semitransparent glass with fiberglass insulation inside. In this way the life taking place outside is visualized outside in the form of undefined shadows. This draws interest and provokes curiosity of the people on the outside of the building. In the same time a semi-transparent elevation becomes a neutral background for the activities taking place in front of the building. In the end of designing process and my work in Asplan Viak, after earth samples study it turned out that soil in place where building was supposed to stand will make it extremely difficult to build. In effect decision about changing the place was made which occur in lost of natural tribunes and access from the road on the hill. I consider this project as one of most interesting in my career at the same time it gave me opportunity to pursue interests which I may implement in future.

Lyngdal, Norway Commercial
My adventure with this project began in year 2009. Having an intership in Arendals office of Asplan Viaks architectural department I was asked to make analyses of five different sites in Lyngdal. Each one was a candidate for the new location of school. The analyses included form and sun studies and strategies for the developement in time considering preservation or demolishion of the existing school buildings. In effect, officials decided to demolish old school and build new one in its place. Shortly before the end of my internship I was asked to prepare sketch form studies for the school. During my absence, project was contiuned but in 2011 I had chance to work with it again. Because of the decision of changing the size of the
COMMERCIAL COMPETITIONS DESIGN CV
school from 240 to 360 students, some significant changes in the design had to be taken. I took part in developing new solutions, and some calculations seeking possibilities of building additional floor and expanding students number to 540. I was also responsible for visualizations and materials for presentations (f.e. elevations ). This project gave me a deep look into design proces, with all “turns on the way and is signifant addition to my knowledge abaut development of ideas and dealing with customers' demands.

LOCALIZATION
REYKIAVIK CHARACTER The public space in Reykiavik center has a linear character. The dominating direction In the present urban structure, is the east-west axis, along the Main Shopping Street. The dense urban tissue evolves around it followed with the biggest flow of people ending in the Austurvöllur . The city developemet plans and results of held competitions indicate that this axe will be further extended,to the Örfirisey and the Old Harbour. The competition area lays one one extreme of the axis embracing the most important public squares.

CITY STRATEGY MAIN The strategy on the city level is PEDESTRIAN linear scheme into the network. DIRECTIONS
to transform present
The first step is to potentiate the perpendicular directions. They are determined by important public functions, increased accessibility by the public transport and accessibility to the intensive parking (parking houses and cellars). The street profile is changed from the QUATER car- to pedestrian-dominated. The increased attractiveORGANIZATION ness QUATER AND PEOPLEof the streets will result in the filling of the urban ORGANIZATION voids. MOVEMENT AND PEOPLE MOVEMENT In the end the parallel streets are revitalized. The quarter – like structure emerges. Such a scheme increases the density and the liveliness in the center, makes it more complex and varied and also connects It better with the surrounding districts. MAIN PEDESTRIAN DIRECTIONS

HOTEL’S ROLE The hotel lies on the most important perpendicular axis, connecting science and nature in the south with culture on it’s north end. Its form helps to create the sequence of connected squares that open up to the south direction. The hotel orders the space and integrates three neighbouring squares. In the same time the individual character of the squares is maintained. The new public space around historic houses improves people flow and underlines the importance of historical monuments.

HOTEL’S ROLE The hotel lies on the most important perpendicular axis, connecting science and nature in the south with culture on it’s north end. Its form helps to create the sequence of connected squares that open up to the south direction. The hotel orders the space and integrates three neighboring squares. In the same time the individual character of the squares is maintained. The new public space around historic houses improves people flow and underlines the importance of historical monuments. THREE SQARES We tried to notice, and then strengthen the individual character of each of the three squares. Inglaforstorg is a public spectacles venue . Concerts and gatherings are taking place there on special occasions. On the ordinary day it’s a spot for skaters and a meeting place for young people. At present the square lies in a “hole” surrounded by the walls, with occasional steps and ramps. To open the square onto surrounding streets and increase its accessibility and surface, we decided to remove the stone walls. They were replaced by the elements of the scene-and-audience. Ramps for the skaters, big elevated scene, and on the opposite side of the square: steps that can turn into a grandstand. The illumination of the square can adapt to different “spactacles” from the ordinary lamps to the scene reflectors. The semi-transparent hotel façade works as a living lamp. Every room with the light on illuminates the square as well.
Austurvöllur is the main city square, with the Icelandic parliament building facing it. It´s surface is covered with grass, which encourages many people to chat and picnic. The ground floor of the surrounding building hosts reastaurants and bars that set their tables outside, on the pavement. The hotel adapts tothis landscape with the restaurant and bar facing the square and having entrance from this side. On the corner of Aðalstræti and Kirkjustræti lays the calmest and most intimate square. That’s why proposed building structure maintains its level of isolation. In the same time the historical meaning of the space is reinforced. It used to be a vegetable garden established by Icelandic doctor – a pioneer of horticulture there. The square is covered with the plant beds, cut by the net of walking paths. The vegetation alludes to the past character of the garden. Trees are surrounded by herbs and other kitchen plants, promoting the urban gardening culture in Reykjavik. The irregular network of paths and greenery reinforces intimate atmosphere of this space. Vallarstræti passage created around historical houses is a new public space and a connection between three squares. It underlines the importance of the historical buildings, eksponujac je jako pomniki na placu. giving them better accessibility and visibility and creating the calm sitting spaces between them, with perspectives towards all three squares.

The inspiration for a youth meeting center design came from the campaign The Fun Theory which assumes that "something as simple as fun is the easiest way to change people’s behavior for the better". We got used to negations in closed space, with tight ties and formal procedures. We imagined a better setting for the communication. In times when people of all nations are traveling, working all around the world, also kindergartens are full of kids with different origins. They usually have no problem with communication, they can often achieve common goals together. I believe this kind of connection is possible also on other grounds. Agreement which is not possible in formal discussion is obvious during play. Also friendships seems to be tighter when born in play. From this concept, idea of meeting center was born. It was our answer to competition organized by Polish president. The building is located in a small COMMERCIAL COMPETITIONS DESIGN CV

village in Ukraine. Surrounded with trees and mountains, it is full of contrasts,a mixture of modernist big hotels hidden in the woods, and small traditional, pitched roof houses. Our proposal consists of three main parts. Big conference hall, convertible into an amphitheater is located in the middle. This space is essence of buildings function. It is surrounded with open space, all exterior walls are also glazed. We can find there “forest of different forms. By making forms which are not defined, we allow the user to interpret them themselves. For some it would be benches or beds, for others, slides, places to hide. Creative user can use this space in many ways, play, and have fun. This space is also full of cozy spaces for individual talks. This multi functionality create perfect atmosphere for communication... Two top floors are reserved for the hotel rooms for the visitors. There are also dining rooms and a library. Everything is connected with the inner patio which rises from the conference hall up to the highest level. From the galleries we can see what is happening inside the conference hall or listen to the lecture. In this way the number of possible spectators was significantly increased. Section of the building reminds bee hive, where collective effort and center of attention is communication. The slide going from the roof to the ground floor underlines the importance of fun in communications and connects all the levels of the minimalist architecture with a sculptured form.Contest was prepared with cooperation with My colleague M.Bednarczyk. And was source of great fun.

The project is a reply to a competition organized by the council of Kielce City. The site is located in the center of the town, and it is surrounded by traditional, historical buildings mainly from XIX and modern ones that arised during the second half of XX century /recently. Diversity of surrounding architecture create almost context less environment. The long, curved shape was a result of the connecton of two walls of the neighbouring buildings. The joining surface was bended and twisted to generate a particular route for visiting the exhibitions.

I proudly present my diploma project, the Music academy, covering 10 000 m2 of usable area. The main concept in this project is duality which is reflected in nearly all aspects of the building. It has double function. Apart from academic role, it contains two completely autonomic concert halls for 200 and 500 spectators. Bigger concert hall has proper, traditional acoustics where sonic wave is controlled by series of carefully calculated surfaces ( calculations performed in autodesk ecotect). Second part of the building is of a totally distinctive shape. In contrast to the consolidated form of the concert halls zone, the school was designed as j.bulas@ansambl.eu

series of cubic forms. This concept helps to organize space, divides building into sections, and makes it intuitive for the user to find a room. The independent construction of the ”cubes” prevents from vibration spreading through the building and helps to control noise, which is the key factor in a music academy. Thanks to this solution all students get proper conditions to study or practice music.
