Network marketing on the internet has never been easier. So why aren't more people doing it? Well, there are several reasons. For some, their network marketing companies have extremely restrictive internet policies that make it difficult for their distributors to promote their products and their opportunity online. For others, it is a matter of not knowing how or where to start. First of all, it is important to realize that even if your company does not allow you to mention the company name or use trademarks and logos associated with it, you can still build your business on the internet without violating any policies and procedures. The way this is done is by using your own name in conjunction with more general terms (like health or legal services) in your promotional materials. An example of this would be having a website, which is registered as yourname.com in which you explain the benefits of joining your team or taking advantage of the training you offer. Another example would be to have a website about a topic related to your products, such as age-spots-begone.com if you offer skin care products that can reduce problems associated with the skin or help-for-narcolepsy.com if you offer nutritional products that you have used successfully for a particular health condition. Keyword research is something that needs to be done early on in your online network marketing efforts. The Free Keyword Suggestion Tool from Wordtracker is a good place to start. With it, you can get a good idea of how many people are searching for the key phrases you are thinking about using in your website, blog, or articles. Some keywords are more competitive than others. The more general the keyword, the more difficult it is to be found (rank) for it. That is why I usually recommend finding longer tail keywords, that is, keyword phrases that use more descriptive words in them. Remember that most people go onto the internet to find information or to solve a problem they are having. People searching for whatever problems or topics you address will type in a search term or keyword. The more keywords you can use effectively, the more frequently your website will be found, eliminating the need for costly advertising. Once someone finds your website, assuming that it delivers high quality information, they will consider you to be an authority and then ask you for recommendations. At this point, they are inviting you to tell them about your products and the sale is but a click away. It doesn't get any easier than that. Of course, setting up a website can be a little intimidating for some people. However, there are

many tools available today that make it easier than ever to establish an online presence. One tool that I especially like is SiteBuildit!(SBI), which is actually a whole suite of tools. The thing about SBI is that someone with no internet experience whatsoever (except maybe sending email) can build a professional looking website. The other option is to set up a blog. WordPress, Drupal, and other services allow you to download their modules for free. There is always plenty of support associated with these services. Blogger, a community owned by Google is another provider you might want to consider as you are starting out. However, you won't have as much control over more advanced features as the others. The last thing you will need is a tool to collect the contact information of the people who visit your website or blog, which you will use to follow up with them. I recommend using an autoresponder to handle this. An autoresponder allows you to send personalized messages to the people on your list as frequently as you wish, and can be set ahead of time. There are many of these available, but some of the more popular ones are GetResponse, Aweber, and iContact. They all require a monthly subscription fee, but it is nothing compared to the value they deliver. Finally, whether you are new to internet network marketing or have already reaped its many benefits, you must keep learning. The internet is constantly evolving, and so are the techniques that get the most attention. This article only touched briefly on a few of the things you need to know. Finding a coach or training program is the next step in helping you to soar to new levels of success, online and off. Also, don't forget to bring the rest of your team along with you. They will thank you for the chance to leave others in the dust as many networkers before you have done. Now it's your turn!
