jilin vanke development summer internship in ACO Shanghai, worked with team to plan and develop a mix-use complex
The project was to plan and design a mix-use complex in the heart of the Jilin Vanke development. The complex includes 4 residential towers, 1 SOHO tower, 1 office tower, with commercials and public spaces. The design language derived from the local cultural activities. Jilin experiences long and cold winters, but people embraces the natural occurrence of frost and celebrates each year with Light and Ice Festivals.

consulate of UAE “oil money is just luck.”
-Sheikh Zayed Sultan Al Nahyan
Before their immense wealth and the founding of the country, the land’s limited resources through understanding and respecting nature’s power. The harsh environment forged their bonds, their resourcefulness, and their will to survive. Sheikh Zayed understood oil is just another form of limited The Consulate of United Arab Emirates will encapsulate will of the people and let visitors journey through the building and experience the sense of “little” from the country that started from little in the barren desert.

adaptive urban textile_ M.Arch 1 Tom Verebes parametric studio
This project questions the validation of China’s urban eradication to achieve “modernization”, and attempts to formulate a method, an adaptive urban system that could withstand this trend of urban eradication. By analysing precedents of MEGABLOCKS and the grid structures of different cities in China, metric information would be translated into parameters for parametric design proposal.

The conceptual design derived from our instinctive reaction of the current urban condition of our site. human to give way to the machines; speeding and rushing through regardless of pedestrian safety, and imprisoning us into a city block. The city grid became a jail for human guarded by killing machines.
1. The design is to propagation the site with fundamental units, or building typologies to form an open-ended collective urban fabric, in attempt to create an intricate and adaptive urban space through the repetitions and connective relationship of these fundamental units.

2. Much like the production of a piece textile, the repetition of interlacing local conditions and parameters. 3. After analysing the programming and desire density of the site, the design aims to connect the 9 blocks as a whole while creating subservient but yet distinctive urban space. Liberating human from the imprisonment of the vehicle grid and provide highly charged space formed by the collisions of the units.

psychiatrist’s house_ a sactuary for the damaged soul of a psychiatrist where he/she could resolidify themselves.
a psychiatrist’s job is to observe, absorb, and guide the patients to the path of recovery, to help them realize much of the problems and fear are nothing but illusions that constraints them from moving on. Many of the patient’s problems are transferred to the psychiatrist themselves, so a sanctuary is needed to resolidify their damaged souls, a place for the psychiatrist to recover, away from the public. The house itself will encapsulate the virtue of a psychiatrist, possibilities within the constraints.

ps ctgu water centre_ 2 week exercise with local Chinese students to develop a master plan for the university
The goal of this proposal is to maintain the existing landscape by integrating a water system into the sloped site and develope a complex for the advance study of water science. The recyclable water system will provide water for and facilities and experiments, to maximize the use of the natural terrain.
