Carl Sagan was quoted as saying, “Science is not only compatible with Spirituality, it is a profound source of Spirituality.” This concept obviously supports both Modern Science and Buddhism , and continues into the Oneness described by Buddhist teachings as well as the Interconnectedness described by Quantum Physics and neuroscience. Buddhism has been split into Secular vs. Religious, but everything is energy, the essence of all that exists, and the energy is aware of itself in what we refer to as consciousness. I refer to this consciousness awareness as a Spiritual practice. There are many levels of spirit/soul/consciousness/God/or the Field and fabric of all that is; Just as there are many layers within the structure of a cell. I think modern science found a way to observe, analyse and understand or at least theorize the behavior/design/function of what we refer to as Natural Selection. It is seen from the smallest nano technology, to the vastness of our reachable viewable universe. The Microcosm always mirroring the macrocosm from behavior to appearance in very obscure, yet observable ways. Layer upon layer of understanding, viewing the universe opperating as a giant brain. The interior version vs. the exterior – not solid with fluid boundaries. The causal influences of us to them and them to us. As Sharon Salysburge stated to be the interconnected universe. So yes, certain aspects of Modern Science do support certain Buddhist Ideologies about the Human Mind. Mind modules describe another idea of the multifasceted workings within the fabric of not only our minds, but the very fabric of universal space within and between all that is. The neuroscience underlying our spatial abilities and the firing receptors is reflected similarly in the way Atoms have protons and neutrons that shift separately and the nucleus is combined with protons and neutrons. Like a Black hole, matter is condensed in a high gravitational force, this too is reflected in our thought patterns and what is seen as the Law of attraction. What we focus on, we Manifest or become. As we meditate, we become more practiced and deliberate in our thoughts. This correlates with Buddhist meditation practices in respect of detachment from the ‘why’ of things, to the beingness we can experience with the thing, yet having a sort of detachment from the essence of the thing through the emptiness referred to throughout Buddhist meditation practices. So yes, certain aspects of modern science do support that of the Buddhist meditation Practices. The question of the difference between Modern Science and Buddhism, automatically defies the understanding of Oneness instead of the varying correlation's between them in certain aspects. Meaning the very observations of perceptual differences are really just the functions of the correlations between the topics/things. Science and Buddhism talk about many of the same things with

different lingo and it has created a language barrier through word association and cultural differences. Similarities or support can also be seen on a smaller observable scale. Buddhism claims that despair is born on the ground of wrong perception, and Psychological practices are about finding the source and redirecting thought into a more stable, better functional pattern. Also in Buddhism, Truth is seen in relationship to a vantage point per the observer and their perspective. Again, Modern psychology verifies the source of a condition and works to improve it from its current state. Meditation practices improve focus of thought. Focus of thought improves the direction of focus into fruition and or manifestation of life on an individual as well as a societal or even global scale. Being that matter is thought of as organized energy in the modern scientific realm, then as we organize our thoughts and thought process, we can become better deliberate creators in the Noetic field of thoughts becoming things. This too, is a degree of attained enlightenment. Epistemological challenges, challenged by science verses that of self-modifying systems such as Buddhism and Buddhist meditation practices. The unknowable evolution that is taking place so incrementally that it is difficult to observe or discern in its current state without looking back over lengths of time and era’s. Meaning, if Natural selection is continuously modifying itself to improve and sustain, then wont acclimating to other species, cultures and nature be a possible step along its way, and isn't real-timeliness also a possibility in the evolution of Natural selection that could quite possibly be attained and achieved by the marrying of Science and spirituality as we leap forward in understanding and wouldn’t this outcome be seen as a firm level of Enlightenment. The evolution of mind and body are reflected back to us in our relationships with nature and with other beings wether human or animal. The more balanced and beautiful an individual see’s their life to be, the better acclimated they are at being the change we seek. This change is Natural Selection in action.
