Hi,

I’m J E N I L S H A H I am a 20yr old, industrial designer pursuing in my final year of education. I'm a tech savvy person, highly enthusiastic about latest gadgets and technology. I am passionate about my work and love to work on gadgets and consumer appliances. Design for me is the simplification of the function in a smart and aesthetically appealing manner with the change in the technology in this fast growing world. I like to go on adventurous trips and places. When i am not designing or sketching i like to play cricket, go on photo walk, listen to music and sometimes i watch tech videos.

cream-folding BRIEF The brief was to take a product, study its technical properties, ergonomics, its mechanism, form, component study and to redesign it by integrating IOT, redesigning mechanism, making it smart and more efficient for future.

ABSTRACT “The folding of cream is one of the most fundamental processes in the bakery delicacies, however over the years of evolution, this function has still not seen the advent of reality through an appliance. Our idea of cream folding appliance is to remold the relationship between the routine of the user and themselves. Compiled with the dawn of technology and smart interaction between the user and product, so that the function of folding is as smooth and intuitive as the interaction with the appliance.

Add lighter cream to the heavier mixture int the bowl

4

Scrape down the side of the bowl with a large rubber spatula towards the center, bringing some batter up from the bottom and flipping it over.

2

Using a large rubber spatula, cut through the center of the batter.

5

Repeat, turning the bowl each time, until there are no more white streaks remaining. The mixture is now folded.

3

Bring the bottom batter up to the top with a wave-like motion.

*

The cream folding for past decades is done using hands and basic tools such as a rubber spatula. The process involves patiently moving the cream on top of it . Stirring would break the lighter batter down and much of the air would be lost. Over the years this process has only been evident in bakery delicacies from famous pastry and cake recipes to other whipped cream food products.

The key purpose of folding is to maintain the airy texture by not letting the air escape.

PROCESS

Mixers for the kitchen first came into use midway through the nineteenth century; the earliest were mechanical devices. The demand from commercial bakers for large-scale uniform mixing resulted in the development of the electric stand mixer. Smaller counter-top stand mixers for home kitchen use soon followed.

WASHI BRIEF The brief was to make a product in a life size scale using the materials MS Sheet metal and Teak wood. Explore different methods of construction and properties of the material. Explore different joinery in the wood.

ABSTRACT Wood joinery is one of the most basic concepts in woodworking. If we didn’t have the ability to join two pieces of wood together in a solid fashion, all woodworking pieces would be sculptures, carved out of a single piece of wood. Our idea was to make a product from the fusion of two materials. We have applied Industrial origami in the MS sheet and Interlocking tenon joint in the wood. Industrial origami helped us to make a backrest out of a single piece of sheet metal without cutting it and the joinery gave us the strength on the seat.

JENIL SHAH SHOM SHAH A D I T YA D A L A L

INDUSTRIAL ORIGAMI Origami ori meaning “folding”, and kami meaning “paper” is the art of paper folding, which is often associated with Japanese culture. In modern usage, the word “origami” is used as an inclusive term for all folding practices, regardless of their culture of origin. Industrial origami is a company who makes low force products from sheet metal using some patented cuts. So by inspiring from them we made some cuts on our own tested and then transformed into the product. It is now widely used on the sheet metal and in the furniture and lifestyle products.

WOODEN JOINERY Joinery is a part of woodworking that involves joining together pieces of wood or lumber, to produce more complex items. Some wood joints employ fasteners, bindings, or adhesives, while others use only wood elements. The characteristics of wooden joints - strength, flexibility, toughness, appearance, etc. - derive from the properties of the materials involved and the purpose of the joint. Therefore, different joinery techniques are used to meet differing requirements. Why we have used cascade joinery because interlocking tenon joint also known as cascade joinery is basically a japanesse joinery which are traditional and more powerful. Also it is used for making the legs of center table and such furniture stuff.

PROJECT STARK BRIEF The brief was to take a handheld product study its form and its attributes and redesign the form using the attributes and analyzing the forms and its ergonomics and how it goes with the sync in the attributes. ABSTRACT Form is not simply the physical or aesthetic properties of a product; it is all the things that make up all aspects of a product’s character, including the values of the culture to which the product belongs. Product taken here is Sony’s Cassette Corder. Form is explored with different attributes and how it will go in the real world. Project stark is nothing but making the present form into a more rugged and robust living life.

L APSTATION BRIEF The brief was to choose a professional understand its working area, time, its workstation and analyze the space interaction with humans and objects. Then we have to redesign the workstation keeping in mind the ergonomics and human body proportion and anthropometric measurements and make it more ergonomic and effective than before.

ABSTRACT Workstation is very important part in our day to day life for a good and systematic workflow. Lapstation is the workstation build for the laptop repair workers specifically configured all the utilities which they need from amateur to professional workflow. We aimed for the four categories i.e. Storage, Illumination, Workspace, Accessibility, Organizer which are need to be redesigned or can be reconfigured. The materials which were shortlisted were supposed for the best build quality and price affordablity.

CREST BRIEF The brief was to take a professional and study its persona, behavior, likings. Take their favorite product and change the CMFG of that product studying the current trends and the trend forecast.

ABSTRACT CMFG is very important in our life. All these four plays an importance role in the visual ergonomics. Sunglasses or sun glasses are a form of protective eyewear designed primarily to prevent bright sunlight and high-energy visible light from damaging or discomforting the eyes. CREST is the CMFG study of the rayban wayfare sunglasses. According to the theme and the mood-boards of the client, CMFG of the product is changed with the study of trends and different materials and combinations that can go with the company as well as clients persona.
