The Artist
I have been privileged to travel a twenty one –year journey with one of South Africa’s most remarkable female entrepreneurs. Jenna Clifford has largely driven the women empowerment ititiative of our company since its inception in 1992. Having experienced a rather challenging childhood, and despite no post-school education, Jenna is a self-made entrepreneur, known and loved by many as a beacon of hope and inspiration. Jenna’s passion and voluntary support to women in business for over twenty years have had a remarkable impact on the lives of many, each time bringing a fiery passion and three decades of intuitive business know-how to the table to guide women on what it takes to be successful in all spheres of life. Jenna’s efforts in this field earned her an appointment in August 2008, together with Archbishop Desmond Tutu, as one of three South African ambassadors and torchbearers for the United Nations Millennium Development Goals 3: Call to Action Global Campaign, which draws attention to the empowerment of women and gender equality. Over time, the Jenna Clifford brand has grown and nurtured these inherent values and brand codes, which define our company. As a father of three daughters, I have recognised and supported the dire need to highlight the equality of sexes in this modern age of ours, where sadly the abuse of women is still rife in most societies. As Jenna’s business partner and husband, it has been my privileged and pleasure to play a part in our soul business and to support ethical, sustainable and worthy causes, be they human, earth or animal causes.
