CONCEPT Terra Health and Wellness is a primary care clinic which promotes healing and inspires all patients to become their best self alongside medical experts. Intentionally and thoughtfully crafted with natural materials, pottery is an art form that allows artists to create using their hands. Distorted clay is molded and formed into a beautiful creation as the artist elegantly shapes the raw materials into a work of art. Just as clay is molded from ordinary to extraordinary, the design of Terra Health and Wellness seeks to enhance the medical experience. Calming and refined elements allows patients to have positive distractions throughout. The natural clay materials of pottery inspired the tones and textures used within the design, and the organic shapes of pottery influenced the custom wall features and furniture selections. CONCEPT The United Veterans Center creates an engaging and encouraging environment for veterans adapting from military to civilian life. Separation from family, friends, and life outside of service yields mental illnesses. The design solution generates a space centered around personal well-being, success, and awareness, that is community driven and inspires others through reverent, refined, and rustic design composition. The Young Foundation developed framework containing four elements to build successful and sustainable long term communities: social infrastructure; cultural life; influence; and space to grow. The design cultivates residents by cultural and community activities that connect veterans. Implementation of social infrastructure allows collaboration and connection between each veteran.
