TEACHER LOAN FORGIVENESS PROGRAM Federal Stafford Loans are forgivable up to $5,000 with a commitment to teach, and up to $17,500 is forgivable with a commitment to teach math, science and special education. Students who become full-time teachers in an elementary or secondary school that serves students from low-income families can have their Perkins Loans forgiven by 15% for the first and second years, 20% for the third and fourth, and 30% for the fifth.

Expect More Of Yourself Texas A&M has a 100 percent job placement rate for students completing teacher preparation programs in middle school, bilingual and special education. Approximately 98 percent of our students pass the K-12 teacher entry exams, almost guarantying that you will too! And, each year, more than 130 school districts come to campus to recruit and hire our Aggie teachers, offering students competitive salaries with an average starting salary of $42K.
Grants of up to $4,000 per year are given to students who agree to serve as a full-time teacher for at least four academic years in a high-need field in a public or private elementary or secondary school that serves low-income students.
