Charm Pack Play Date Full Day Class

A charm pack is a wonderful quilters cut designed to be put right to use without a lot of cutting and trimming. Many quilt designers have charm pack quilts that go together quickly and easily. The simple yet effective quilts that charms make show off a nice block of fabric which provides so much inspiration!

Each student will receive small cuts of fabric to work with, dye, fixatives, print paste, corn dextrin and potato dextrin. You will also receive a selection of interesting smallscale stencils which Cindy calls Dit-Dots or support fabrics.

After making a collection of potato and corn dextrin print blocks, you will mix 21 different colors of dye paint out of 3 colors of dye. Then you will use this thickened dye paint to dye your print blocks, as well as make some hand painted "artsy solid" complimentary blocks to mash up in your quilt. You will dye enough blocks for 2 full charm packs - one prints pack and one solids pack.

Kit includes pre-cut cotton fabric, stencil pack, corn dextrin and potato dextrin, print paste, several color combinations to select from, fixatives and detergent, gloves, dust mask, screen printing tools, paint brushes mixing cups and spray bottles.

BLACK MAGIC - REVERSE DYEING FULL DAY CLASS

Saturday, June 10 // 10am – 4pm

$125* Class Fee // $35 Black Precut Fabric // $50 Materials Fee**

Starting with black fabric, we will safely strip the color out of the fabric before recoloring with dye. This fun technique creates dramatic pieces with lots of design and contrast, each a quilter's playground! Your imagination is your only limitation!
