Jennifer Payette
1. Case Study Site Visit: Collect data from the case study buildings and identify basic structures and materials. • Eastern Precinct Student Centre
Dimensions (approx.): 33m x 10m Potential construction constraints: Limited small space in between two buildings. Doug McDonell building has multiple floors and casts large shadow over student Centre, not allowing much natural sunlight. Links to other buildings: The Eastern Resource Centre and Doug McDonell support the Student Centre. The outer walls of these two buildings are used as the walls for the Student Centre. Structural Systems: Steel Frame structure. Materials: Steel, glass, wood, concrete • MSLE Building
Dimensions (approx.): 20m x 3m Potential construction constraints: Limited space between two buildings Links to other buildings: Links two parts of the MSLE building, and joins them so that it acts as one building. It uses walls from either side of the buildings for support. Structural Systems: Steel Frame structure. Materials: Steel, glass, timber, concrete, plasterboards, carpet, brick

Materials: Concrete, steel, timber • Ormond Theology Centre Reception
Dimensions (approx.): 12m x 9m Links to other buildings: Connected to old building, which is a mass construction, whereas the new is steel frame structure. Structural Systems: Steel frame and concrete. Materials: Concrete, steel, glass, stone, carpet, brick
