While it may still be the middle of July, summer will be over before you know it. That means you’ll soon have to start preparing your children for the start of another school year. This is often a difficult process for parents, as kids spend the summer having fun, staying up late, and thinking about anything other than school. If you’re worried about preparing your kids for another year of education (https://pratibhaintschool.org/back-to-school-tips-for-parents-2022/), look no further. Here are a few tips to help make it easier than ever. Start Bedtime Routines Early Two weeks before school begins, it’s important that parents start preparing their kids for an earlier bedtime. Oftentimes, parents will allow their kids to stay up later in the summertime. If they don’t start enforcing an earlier bedtime until the night before school begins, it’s likely they won’t be able to sleep that night and will be exhausted for their first day. Your kids should be getting at least 8 hours of sleep each night, if not more. So if they wake up for school at 7 AM, make sure they’re in bed by 10 PM. If they’re younger, you may want them in bed even earlier. Meet Their New Teacher One of the biggest concerns of kids about a new school year is the new teacher. Having a good relationship with the new teacher can help ease some of their fears. During open houses or back-toschool nights, you can meet the new teacher and get to know them a little bit. Some teachers also welcome e-mails and phone calls. If you’re not able to contact the new teacher, try searching the school’s website or yearbook for his or her picture. If the teacher makes a welcome letter, make sure to read it together. Connect Your Child With Their Friends Another great way to ease your child’s back-to-school anxiety is to find out if any of their friends are in their class this year. If you know their friend’s parents, give them a call and see who their teacher is this year. Social media makes this even easier nowadays. If your child hasn’t seen one of these friends all summer, try getting them together before school starts so they can become reacquainted. Not only will this likely ease any worries your child might have about school, but it’ll also probably make them more excited about going back. Buy Supplies As Soon As Possible
