A one-off, privately owned toy store on Montana Avenue, JennyBec's has a great selection of well made toys and furniture for babies and children. The store carries many small, interesting toys and crafts for under $10, as well as more expensive items including a good selection of costumes, loads of puppets, educational toys, musical instruments, Thomas the Tank accessories, and a great selection of books. Most of JennyBec's toys are slightly off the beaten path - not Toys R Us-type inventory at all. And several of those fun, simple items from our childhood that we'd love to find again are available here; think Colorforms. There are some clothes (mostly T-shirts), including a good selection of Roobeez shoes. The furniture is high-end: beautiful and well-made. JennyBec's is a great place to set up a baby shower registry; the store has beautiful linens, diaper bags, and layettes, and the complimentary gift wrap is very attractive.
