An apple a day keeps the doctor away Introduction Students collect data on their food habits at dinner time, providing that this is the “family� meeting moment because they have lunch at school from Monday to Friday. Aims Encourage our 13-year-old students to follow a healthy and balanced diet at home during schooldays. Subjects Science - Language - Literature Duration 2 weeks Activities 1. The teacher presents the activity: a. Explains the importance of doing the required tasks day by day. b. Reminds students to make regular backup copies of the pictures taken at home. c. Shows how to edit pictures through befunky.com, which
is free for adding effects and does not need registration. d. Tells students that they will receive an email containing a survey, at the end of the week. 2. During Monday to Friday week, students take pictures in order to show what they have for dinner and who they have dinner with. 3. Students select 2 pictures per day, add a descriptive text and
effects through befunky.com, and share them online. 4. Every day in class, students show their pictures and briefly explain them. 5. At the end of the week, students complete an online survey
created by the teacher using https://surveymonkey.com/, which asks them to put a tick on the different meal categories
they had for dinner day by day. 6. The teacher analyses answers and shows the resulting charts offered by the software, so that the class may discuss if the students are following a balanced and healthy diet.
