Tommy Dant is excited to launch his shopping experience in the Irvington Neighborhood. Not new to exciting local business, James Dant is replacing the former home of Homespun. The support for small business in the Irvington area was a huge draw for Tommy Dant.

James Dant at its core is a shop for men. James Dant offers men a tailored shopping experience, unlike other shops available to gentleman in Indianapolis.

The shop is full of hand selected items curated by James Dant Owner, Tommy Dant. The shop encourages men to discover and express their own personal style, with products that range from beard products to apparel. The shop will have a few fixed gear bikes for the Urban Adventurer.

Tommy Dant is planning a soft store opening in the middle of February, with the official opening March 1, 2014. He will be on hand to personally introduce shoppers to the James Dant experience.

James Dant is more than a new shop in the Irvington Neighborhood; it is a lifestyle destination for the modern man.

A mix of modern design and wood craftsmanship will create a comfortable shopping experience for the men who visit James Dant.

James Dant started in the mind of a 13 year old boy, when he asked the question, “Why aren’t there any clothing stores just for men?”

James Dant is now and will forever be a place where men can feel comfortable shopping. A place that feels like it was built and curated for the urban gentleman.

Now the idea has taken on several names over the years, but really started taking shape about a year and a half ago.

No... we will not carry women’s clothing.

A graduate from Ball State University, Tommy Dant pitched his concept for James Dant to Ball State’s version of “Shark Tank.” His plan won him first place and a cash prize, and the title of “Best New Venture Plan.”

No… we will not shave our beards.

Tommy Dant is combining his entrepreneur spirit, business education, and understanding of men’s style to launch the James Dant lifestyle shopping experience. From the studs of the walls to every piece selected for the store, Tommy Dant has put his personal touch to every part of James Dant.

He has previewed his shop at different events around Indianapolis. Events included Yelp’s Totally Bazaar and Pattern’s Bindery pop-up shop. He has been featured on PatternIndy.com, SocialClub19.com, and other publications around Indy.

No… we will not conform to suits.

Ok. That last one has some exceptions. It is our goal to please those who appreciate something that has been missing in Indy, and most of the Midwest for a long time.
