Maribor had in 2012 as European Capital of Culture a great opportunity to develop small scale projects such as the art center in Pekre which cause significant changes but not so in the urban fabric rather than in the social fabric. A degraded, pitched piece of land is developed into a public green space at the transition between urban and rural, where the word green describes only the color. For residents of the surrounding bedroom communities would

the new art center become a mean to interact in their spare time. And if the project proves to be successful no restrictions for expansion of services were present as the built structures, possitioned on the edge of the plot, occupy only a tenth of the available land. The solution presented is my own interpretation of the rural-urban integration in the present circumstances.

The project was positioned at the edge old city center where once the city walls had been standing. Positioned on the axis between city library and university building, adjoining the existing Art gallery, the academy of fine arts is a logical continuation in this context. A subtle extension blends in the surrounding and in the meantime represent the existance of historical legacy. Cultural programme is complemented with areas for Academy of fine Arts and studios for visiting artists. FRAGILITY OF SPACE

Living is inseperably connected with changing the landscape to ones needs, but people are not aware of the responsibility they carry with their interventions in the sourounding. With an exaggerated expression of individualism landscape is broken into pieces instead of being shaped into a coherent whole one could call cultural landscape. A new image of the Slovenian landscape becomes the sum of excesses by individuals out of context of time and spirit.
This installation is a critique of expressing free will. Our desire is to establish responsibility for our sourounding we call home and the people who live there. Our commitment to the environment and the desire to change the relationship to it is expressed by this installation, which required more than 500 hours of work and was destroyed in a few moments, as in the same moment changed the attitude to architecture and space.
500 hours of work and 30.000 shells destroyed ina matter of minutes.

Space for memory is conceived as the heart of the connection between park Zvezda and Knafljev prehod . A hitherto unnoticed area is is liberated of service facilities and converted into a public open space. The notch in the paving creates an inviting entrance to the world beyond the monument. Spread wings define a significant panorama. Upon entering the dark interior deeper understanding is being awaken. The memorial at the end of the dark path opens to the sky. Water as a symbol
of eternity ends the feeling of anxiety that arises when passing through the monument. Infinite reflective surface that constantly pours over the edge with inscription of commemorative nature is a reminder of human sacrifice.

An inspiring task for a house in the hilly background of the mediterranean sea requested modern design, well integrated into its surrounding. Complete concept of a house is a set of costumers requirements and wishes. House, primarily designed for a young family, also includes separated area for visiting parents, connected to the main area through outdoor mediterranean landscape. The house is closed towards the neighbours and open to the beautiful sea view.

The proposal is based on an integrated approach to achieve effective and overall integrated use of land. Sustainability and interdisciplinarity are keys of urban development. The main objective is to create high-quality environment for people. The main challenge from an environmental point of view is traffic planning as well as the physical and social structure of the city. The existing railway track and main access road represent a sharp barrier and prevent connection of city to the river. The new railway track will release some urban areas and will open historic city structure. Despite the relocation of the railway track the character of the area between the river and the historic center is still subordinated to the transport infrastructure and hardly accessible because of the central four-lane street. The crossings of pedestrian paths and traffic routes cause conflict situations. Tendencies for new public spaces, accessible green areas, living at/on the river, design for pedestrians and cyclists, are reflected in sustainable character of the roads, which no longer separate but connect. Site should become the generator of the place with guaranteed pulse of the city, the place which allows connections in all directions.
