People can search for people they know on twitter by connecting with their emailaccounts. Do you want to be found by people you already know? Select this option!

You can add your location to each tweet. When this is activated other people can see your actual location. Be carefull! Not sure what to do? Turn it off....

When you始ve selected this option your tweets are visible only to people you始ve connected with. You will recieve a request when people want to follow you.

Yes, we have spammers and hackers on twitter! Is your Twitter account sending tweets or messages you didn始t send yourself? Your account might be hacked. Change your password immediately!

Twitter - Tweet (@replies, mention & hashtag) [4] @ (mention or reply) Using an @ in combination with a username in a tweet directs the tweet to a specific user. The tweet will be visible for other 驶tweeps始 too, unless you have a protected account. An message with a @ will show up in the user's "replies" tab. You can type the @<username> in a tweet to mention someone. When you want to reply on a tweet just click the reply button under that tweet, the @<username> will show up automaticly.

Hashtag (#) A hashtag is a way of organizing your Tweets for Twitter search engines. Users simply prefix a message with a hashtag to enable others to discover relevant posts. Adding a hashtag (#) to a word makes that word clickable... Try these: #socialmedia - #socialbitesNL - #FF (Follow Friday) - #durftevragen (NL)

Twitter - Tweet (ReTweet & DM) [4] RT (ReTweet) A Retweet (RT) is used on Twitter to show you are tweeting something that was posted by another user. The format is “RT @<username>” where username is the Twitter name of the person you are retweeting.

DM (Direct Message) A private message (direct message) send to a person. You can only send direct messages to people you are following and who are following you back! You can send a direct message by clicking ʻMesssagesʼ on the top navigation bar.

Bit.ly One of my favorite tools; an URL-shortener called bit.ly. Shorten and share your links and keep track of them with integrated statistics. Also available as an add-on for internetbrowser. I use the Chrome version...

Twileshare Now this is what we mean by 驶simplicity始. Upload en share files on Twitter. Maximum filesize 20mb and a storage space of 1 GB. Let始s give it a try!

dlvr.it Nice tool to distribute your bblogpostings (RSS) to social network(ing tool)s like Twitter, Facebook and Linkedin. Personally I think this one works better than Twitterfeed but my personal favorite is IFTTT....

Twitterfeed Create a direct feed from your blog or any other RSS based feed to Twitter, Facebook and some other networks. Integration with bit.ly via API and the option to add a prefix or suffix on each message.

IFTTT Ultimate tool to create ʻscriptsʻ based on your social activity. If this then that. That about it ;-) Really; itʼs brilliant *****. Read more about IFTTT by clicking on the image below...

Twitblock Tool that scans all your followers for common signs of 驶spam accounts始 and gives you a clear overview of them. It始s up to you to (manually, like that...) block them or report them as spam.

Qwitter Keep track of people who stopped following you. Qwitter will send you an update via email every week.

Tweetstats One of the first Twitter analytics tools. Still like it....

Proxlet Tired of Twitter noise? With Proxlet you can block apps, mute users, and filter tags on Twitter. Not just click and go, you have to configure your twitter client to use Proxlet.

Twuffer Schedule your tweets. That始s all we can say about this tool. It始s clean, easy and works. Bufferapp does the same but also gives an advice about the best time to publish content and analyses clicks & retweets from each posting.

Twtpoll Create a poll in seconds and invite people to vote. People without a Twitter account (yes, they do exist) can participate as well.

Twitpic Twitpic let始s you share media (Photo in .gif, .jpg or .png up to 10 MB or video up to 1:30) on Twitter. Twitpic also tracks the amount of views. You can add tags, a location or event to the photo or video.

SocialOomph SocialOomph is a ʻsocial media productivity toolʼ. I donʼt like auto-everything. The word ʻautoʼ appears 17 times on their homepage.... But for some purposes this works fine.
