This is a Bengali-language article of Jerome D'Costa in which Pope Francis, from the beginning of his papacy, has been drawing our attention to the presence and ill effects of clericalism in the Catholic Church. He is trying to teach that clericalism creates division in the Church between the clergy (ordained deacons, priests, bishops, cardinals, and popes) and laypersons (men and women). He is also telling that the teachings of the Second Vatican Council (1962 - 1965) should be implemented fully so that the clergy, instead of being rulers or dictators, maybe the real servants of the Church and work side by side with the laity.
