This Bengali-language article of Father Victor Bikash D'Rozario and Roni Lazar Mondol on Father Marino Rigon, S.X. (1925-2017), who was based in the Catholic Diocese of Khulna in Bangladesh, provides a short life-sketch and contributions of this Italian missionary (who set up dozens of schools and hostels for boys and girls in addition to financially assisting poor students, gave refuge and medical attention to thousands of internal refugees who had fled West Pakistani soldiers' attacks and burning and looting during 1971 liberation war of Bangladesh). He also introduced Bengali literature to the Italian readers by translating many books of novelist Sarat Chandra Chatterjee, Nobel prize-winning poet Rabindra Nath Tagore, poet Jasimuddin, poet Sukanta, and folk singer Lalan Shah in the Italian language.
