Booming Bankers By: Tytin, Edgar, Ariana, and Michael It was a nice and warm sunny day January 1849 in a town called Boomtown. There was a banker named Michael who was an ordinary man who only wanted his bank to boom. The only way this could happen is if people became rich overnight. Faith on the other hand, had planned something better, not only for Michael, but for three other people as well. They were Michaels coworkers. Their names were Ariana, Tytin, and Edgar. Michael worked in a bank called Boomtown Bank. They opened their bank in 1849 during the gold rush. Michael was behind the counter while the others were trading gold for money. “A lot of people were still looking for gold,�
Tytin told Ariana, “There's someone waiting outside.” Ariana said, “Why.” Edgar said, “They want to trade gold for money.” Michael saw everyone arguing and went outside. After Michael gave the miners money he saw something shining on the green grass. Michael went behind the old rusty bank and shouted, “I found gold!” Everyone burst outside to find a river with green grass and small rocks on the ground. We all went looking for gold and we forgot about the bank. Ariana went back in the bank and saw two robbers. Ariana screamed as loud as a gunshot. Everyone ran back inside the bank and asked,”What happened?” Ariana stated, “Two robbers came inside our bank and they dropped two dollars on the floor.” The next
day Tytin and Edgar went to look for the robbers while Michael and Ariana were looking for gold just in case. Tytin asked Edgar, “Do you think we will find them?” Edgar said, “I don’t know. They could be anywhere.” At the end of the day everyone went to the bank. Tytin and Edgar were so surprised when they saw 10 big nuggets of gold. “Wow!!” said Edgar that’s pretty good for one day. Michael and Ariana said, “We did as much as we could.” Edgar stated, “Do you hear that?” We looked outside and saw the robbers. Edgar and Tytin went outside and got the robbers. The robbers had to give the money back or else they faced their consequences. At the end, the bank was back to booming.
The Chinese Miners By: Sara, Jaeling, Jonni, and Valerie
We are the four chinese miners. Our names are Sara, Jaeling, Jonni, and Valerie. We came from South Asia to San Francisco. Sara was the youngest which was 6. Jaeling was 11. Jonni was 16 . Valerie was the oldest which was 20. We traveled by horse wagon. One cold morning Valerie woke the girls up for a regular morning. We were having breakfast as we were listening to the radio. “Valerie, Valerie, the radio said there’s going to be a gold rush in San Francisco! Can we go?” said Sara. “Sure, but you better get ready before it's too late.” So everyone packed their stuff. On the way to San Francisco there was papers about the gold rush all over the road in San Francisco. “OMG, I have never seen San Francisco like this before!” said Valerie. We got out of the horse wagon and we went to the hole where everyone was digging. Then the miners said, “YOU CAN’T DIG HERE, YOU ARE CHINESE!!!!.” “Why are you so rude!!” said Jonni. “JUST LEAVE!!” said another miner.
So then we moved to a different part of San Francisco. We dug and dug. WE FINALLY FOUND GOLD. So we hurried to the horse wagon and went to the store to get new clothes, food, and new beds for everyone. So then we had a better house. Also had a lot more food. Also our clothes. Also our beds and liquid. And most important our family. The EndÂ
GOLD RUSH By: Enoch, Nick, and Mia It all started in 1848. The word spread that gold was discovered at Sutter’s Mill, in the American river. We quickly bought tickets to board a ship heading from Richmond, Virginia to San Francisco, California. We soon boarded the ship, but the traveling was unacceptable. “What are we having today?” Nick asked, on the 15th day at sea. “The same thing we’ve had these past 2 weeks, stale bread and salted pork.” Tytin answered. “Why the same thing every day?” I asked. “We don’t have anything else on the ship.” Tytin answered. We continued the travel, feeling seasick, for many months. Finally, Nick exclaimed, “I see land!” We all turned to see, and then I saw it too. “Yes, there is land in sight!” We soon came to a harbor in San Francisco. “Isn’t the gold in Sacramento?” Tytin asked. “Yes, but this is the closest to Sacramento we could travel on ship. The rest will have to be on foot or by ferry.” I answered. After saying those words, a
ferry came into view, and we were the next ones to go. We soon bordered the ferry with many other people. Once we got to the other side, we headed for the merchants, bought supplies and headed for the goldfields. Once at the goldfields, we looked for an open spot. Each spot seemed to be taken by someone else. “Excuse me, can we mine here?” we asked a miner, panning at the river. “No, this is for my partner Joe. He is in the tent behind you.” he answered. “Ok.” I said. We continued doing this until finally, we found a nice girl who shared her spot with us. “Would you be nice enough to share your spot with us? No one seems to have a spot for us.” Nick said. “Sure.” the girl answered. After days of mining, we had hardly any gold. “Surely there is some place we can find enough gold for the four of us,” Tytin stated, “let’s go look for another spot.” “Good idea!” I said. We packed up our things and started walking towards nowhere. We kept walking until we got tired. “Let’s stop here,” I said after a few hours of walking, “and pitch our tent. I am
getting tired. We’ll have dinner and then go of tomorrow.” As we were setting up our tent, I felt something in the dirt that wasn’t dirt. “Guys, I think I found something!” I said. We quickly looked over and started digging. As soon as we took it out, we saw it was yellow. “Could this be gold?” the girl asked, “gold is yellow.” “Let’s test it,” Tytin said, “and make sure it isn’t Iron pyrite, fools gold, you know.” We set it on a stone, set it on a smaller stone, and hit it. It flattened, but did not break. “Guys,” Nick said, “I believe we found a gold mine.” “What are we going to do? It’s almost night fall.” the girl, Mia, said. “I’m staying right here. I am not going to lose a gold mine. Let’s continue pitching our tents and spend the night here.” I said. We continued pitching our tents, slept, and woke up early the next morning. “What should we do?” Tytin asked. “I think we can share gold with the other miners. Maybe they will share with us after that.” Nick said. “Good idea,” I said, “we can make maps to the mine and then through the mine. That way they know where to go.” So we
got to work on the maps. The next day, people had packed their bags and headed towards the mine. “Guys, we won’t let you just mine all over here for free. You didn’t share spots with us, so we won’t share the mine with you, unless you share the gold you find with us. “Tytin said. “Yeah, everyone gets an even amount of gold. There is enough for all!” Mia continued. “OK,” the miners agreed, “we will share the gold. Sorry for being selfish.” “It’s okay, Nick said. Then we started mining. Every night, we split the gold between each other, and did that for a few years. Then, the gold rush ended, so we built log houses and lived there permanently.
Journey To The Riches BY: Haidee, Madison, Sebastian and Everaldo One sunny day in 1849, there was four friends, Everaldo, Sebastian, Madison, and Haidee. They just got to, San Francisco. They came from Boston to find gold for their poor families, and their fortunes. They just got off the ship. Everaldo said, “It smells good.” Then Sebastian said, “Yeah it do ces.” Haidee said, “You guys focus we are here to find gold.” Madison said, “Just let them have fun!” So, they went on to their future. All of a sudden a guy came up to us and said, “You guys look good what are you guys wearing?” Then Haidee said, “I am wearing a long shirt, jeans, and boots.” Madison said, “I am wearing a short T-shirt, ripped jeans, and boots. Everaldo said, “I am wearing a long shirt, Jeans and boots. Sebastian said, “I'm wearing short t-shirt jeans and boots.” Then the guys said, “cool.” Then, we headed to the big city. The buildings were so big. There were even big trains. There wagons, horses, and people on and in the wagons. Then we got in a wagon and rented a cabin near the stream. Then we got to work. Four hours passed and then three weeks. Two months
went by. We were losing hope. Sebastian, Madison, and Everaldo said, “Let’s give up you guys, will never find gold. Let’s go home!” Then, Sebastian tripped on a rock. All of a sudden Everaldo said, “That's not a big rock that is gold!” Then we all said, “Eureka we found gold!” Luckily were not the only ones who heard us say gold . A banker named Michael heard us say gold, and he wanted the gold. He made a plan to steal our gold. When we went to sleep, Michael got in the cabin we were living in they stole the gold. Then in the morning Haidee said “YOU GUYS SOMEBODY STOLE OUR GOLD!!!” We had a problem! Then we went looking for the gold thief. We heard someone yell “HELP!” Then we ran to the place were we heard the yell then we said, “MICHAEL!” Then he said “Yes!” “What are you doing with all the gold!” Then he said “I robed it and your not going to do anything about it!” Then he got up and ran with the gold in his hands, then Everaldo ran after Michael like a cheetah. Then Everaldo got our gold and put Michael in Jail. When we returned home our families had a big feast.
Just Found Gold By Andrik Hello my name is Andrik and I live in Selma Town and it is 1849 at 1:00 am. I work at a coal mine and my pals Ray, Omar, and Feb work with me too. It’s hard working at the coal mines. We lose a worker a year. After work me and my pals go to our spot the Parlor. Omar and Ray get apple cider. Feb and I get some root beer. One day mortgage came and I could not pay them. I only had a week to pay them. I told my pals they said they were broke. I was like a rock in a hard place, but one day something came up. Someone found gold! I told my pals. Ray said, “That can help us all.” Ten Feb said, “It can help you pay your mortgage and use money.” We all agree. At
sunset we all got up and pack our things. The trip would take about two months. Then we left Selma Town at 7:50. The days got hot. On the last day we got to Sacramento. Then we went to a nearby river. Got out the tents and start making camp. Then we got out pans and start to shuffle the pans. Two days gone by. All we got were just fish. One day more, people came then my pals were in a rush to find the gold. Three weeks later Ray saw four nuggets of Gold. She grab them when nobody was looking. Then she grab them. She show me. Omar and Feb knew that there was gold and when everyone was asleep we got 40 gold nuggets. Then we all split ten nuggets. We got our things and got on the wagon and went home.
Silver Gold By: Noemi, Roxanna, Gaby, and Hope One Sunny day in China, we were outside. Rose was 26 years old, Jiscoo was 24, Jennie was 23, and Lisa was 22. Jennie’s birthday was on May 16, 1825. Lisa’s birthday was on April 22, 1826. Rose’s birthday was on October 13, 1822. Jiscoo’s birthday was on September 30, 1824 Jiscoo was swinging on swing. Rose was playing and smelling the flowers. Jennie and Lisa were listening to music near the cabin. Suddenly, rain came out of nowhere. We were all getting ready to go inside until, we saw a beautiful view around the mountain. Jiscoo screamed, “Do you guys see that? There is something shiny yellow on that mountain.”
So, when the rain stopped we all started to hike up the mountains. Rose keeped on whining that it was to slippery. Jiscoo told Rose, “Rose you should have told us that you were going to be acting like this. So you could have stayed home.” We all looked at Rose. We finally got there. Rose said, “We wasted our time.” Jennie said, “Look on the bright side at least we got to exercise.” The water was as cold as ice. We just had no luck on finding the gold. We had to go back home. Jiscoo said, “I swear I saw a Gold Nugget.” Lisa said, “We believe you because we saw it too. Jennie said, ”Don’t you guys think Rose is acting suspicious?” “Yeah sort of” replied Lisa. It was getting kind of late so we went to sleep. The next day we woke up and rose was not there. Jennie said, “Rose is not here. “Lisa replied she
probably went for a walk.” We went to the correct mountain this time. There was a bunch of people there. We saw Rose there and we knew something was wrong. Lisa told Rose, “What are you doing here?” Rose responded, “Nothing. What are you doing here?” Lisa told her to go home with us but she said, “NO I NEED GOLD NOW!” We said, “No Come here NOW!” She said FINE.” but in a scared way. We got home Lisa was so mad at Rose she said, “Why would you, you know that the gold was going to get us a little more money for the cabin. Rose said, “I know. But you guys were only interested in the gold.”
So we went back to the mountain there was a lot of people there. They did not even let us get into the water to search for gold. Rose stayed home she said she was not feeling good.
After a lot of people left Lisa said in excitement, “I found a Gold Nugget!!!” Jennie said a few minutes later, “I found one too.” We returned home Rose was really sick we went to the bank, traded and got some money. We bought Rose a medicine that would help her. And we bought a new house. THE END!!
The California Gold Rush By: Angelina, Juan, Francisco, Yuvi “Wow!” said Juan. “I think I found gold.” “Me too,” said Yuvi, Francisco, and Angelina. We all got together and looked at the gold. We found three gold nuggets and some flakes. When all of us turned around there was a person, standing on the other side of us. We were all scared. Then the person said, “Give me this land.” Francisco said, “No.” But he can tell he wasn’t joking. Then the person pulled out a pistol and pointed it at Angelina. Then someone named Eric saw what was going on and came running as fast as a cheetah. He tackled the person down, and then they fell to the ground. All of us were standing proudly. The person got scared and ran away. Yuvi was the tallest member from all of us. Yuvi has black hair, some boots and always wore a sweater. Juan was the second tallest member. Juan always likes to be neat and always like to wear boots. Juan never likes to wear a sweater. Francisco was the smallest member. He likes to be neat and has black hair and black boots. Angelina had black hair and black boots, also she always likes to be prepared.
One beautiful sunny morning, Yuvi woke up and looked at his clock. The clock said 7:30 am. Then he went to Juan’s neat room. Then Yuvi yelled, “ Wake up!” Then Juan woke up and said, “What do you want?” Yuvi replied, “Go wake up Francisco and Angelina. Juan complained, “Do I have to?” Yuvi said, “Yes.’’ While I make breakfast.” Then Juan got up and went to go wake up Francisco and Angelina. Then we went to the kitchen and Yuvi was cooking. Then we ate and went outside. “What a beautiful day.” said Angelina. People were already looking for gold. One day we found gold! So then we went to the bank to exchange our gold for money. Then we asked, “Can we trade our gold for money?” “NO!” he yelled back. Every day in the afternoon we came back to the bank. But the banker kept on saying, “NO!” We kept on coming back again and again. The banker got meaner and meaner each day we asked. One early afternoon, Yuvi said, “Let's go back to the bank.” We said, “Okay.” After we reached the bank, we told the banker, “Can we trade our gold for money?” The banker replied, “No.” Then the next afternoons, we went to the bank again and again. One day the banker yelled, “NO!” “Can we come back any other day?” Juan asked. “Maybe,” the banker replied. But he lied. He kept on saying “no.”
We were determined to get our gold traded for money. We really needed the money to buy food. “I’m hungry!” Francisco yelled. “But we don’t have any money to buy food!” replied Yuvi. So then, we went back, but once we walked in, he yelled, “I quit!” And he left. The banker didn’t want to trade our gold but we kept on telling the banker “Can we trade our gold for money.” Each day we went to get our gold traded. We went again, they said no. We said, “We would pay them”! They told us to leave. We said “we will get our gold traded.” We went the next day and the worker said, “you can leave or I will take your gold!” The banker got tired of us so he yelled, “I quit!” Then Tytin came in and said, “How can I help you?”. We told him if we could trade are gold for money and Tytin said, “yes”.
The Four Sisters By: Jacqueline, Passion, Arlene, Vanessa As the sun set over the horizon in 1848 I looked over bored and everyone was in a rush to find gold. Well… everyone except me and my sisters. I have three sisters first there is Unicorn. She likes the color purple and she also likes donuts. Then there is Crystal. She likes pink and she also likes pizza. Finally there's Cris. She likes turquoise and she also likes orange chicken. She is very intelligent. Unicorn said, “Can we eat donuts?” Waiting for an answer, “Well?” My sister is not patient at all. “You can eat later. We’re about to get off the ship.” The ship stopped, as we got on the dock. We got our things and
head home. We live in a huge cadin and own a cooking house. We like to cook for the miners. It's our job. We are going to our business. When Unicorn said, “I'm hungry guys.” Cris said, “When we get there we will cook for the miners.” Crystal added. Rebeka said, ‘‘Quit it you three. Let's go” Crystal said. Cris started to cooking. Crystal asked, “The miners what they wanted to eat.” Then at night we fell asleep. One fateful night we were asleep. Then crash! The sound woke us up. “Someone stole our gold!” Cried Rebeka. The next day we called the police. “Someone broke into our home and stole our sheriff!” said cris. The
sheriff went to town and said, “Whoever finds the women's gold gets 1,000 gold nuggets. “I can’t believe someone stole our gold!” said Rebecca angrilly. “So he or she just grabbed a rock threw it at the window, and stole our money and gold!” After that he sped away like a speeding arrow. The sheriff, Mike, took notes from the caim and sped off. “What if we tried to solve our mystery on our own. We all turned” said Unicorn. We can try” answered Crystal. A few minutes we were all at the scene of the crime. “Hey look!” said Unicorn. She dashed towards the window. We couldn’t believe it. “The thief had left a little bit of gold dust.” We went outside next to the window and gasped. There were muddy footprints. Let’s go find out who stole our money. We started to follow the
footprints that headed into the woods. “Are we there yet?” Asked Crystal, “Yep.” In front of us stood a small cabin. We gasped as the door opened. It was Tytin. Cris’, long lost brother. After we found out that the thief was Cirs long lost brother he gave as back our money and gold. We were so thankful and glad that Tytin gave us our money and gold back. We were a gold nugget behind but Cris said it’s fine. The sheriff was going to take Tytin. Cris said, “No don’t take him.” Cris said, “If you take him your going to take me to.” The sheriff said, “No I won’t take you or Tytin. Tytin is the best banker in town.”
The Gold Adventure By: Eric, Klair, Precious, Marissa It was January 23,1848 it was very cold outside so everybody was covered
in blankets. Precious woke up and went to Eric’s neat room and woke him up Eric woke up and went in the kitchen to eat some left over chicken. When Eric was done eating his chicken he went to go wake up Klair. So Eric went to Klair’s messy room and woke her up Klair said “ 10 more minutes” Eric said “ okay”. When Klair finally woke up she went go wake up Marissa. Then Marissa woke up and made some food she got a piece of pig and cooked it .She called it bacon when Marissa slowly started eating Klair said ‘’WAIT!’’ Marissa said ‘’what’’?Klair said ‘’I got to check if its poisonous’’ Marissa said ‘’NOOOOO!’’.Then Klair chopped and chopped then Marissa said ‘’WHY’’!!!!!.Precious and Eric laughed and laughed. The next day we went outside and started chopping wood.We were all using axes with sharp blades.Then out of the corner of Klair’s eye she saw a fox sneaking up on the chickens.Klair got her gun that she always carries for any danger outside and shot a bullet to the ground and scared the fox.The fox jumped up with fear.Marissa dropped her ax and started to run at the fox.She jumped out and stretch her hands out and grabbed him by the feet.The fox came down. Klair
who was right behind her scooped the fox.Klair said we will name him Dave’.Then Precious said to Marissa ‘’ Where is George ‘’ Marissa said ‘’I don’t know’’.Then Klair yelled out ‘’Look a wagon’’.Eric saw the wagon the wagon show up in their front yard.There was a tall man with boots he got out of his wagon. The persons boots made a crunching noise every time he stepped.He stopped right in front of Eric. “Eric said who are you ?”in a scared voice.Then the strange man said “did you already forget me already it’s me George”And they all said “oh.”We didn't recognize you in the cloths.Then George said “who cares about the clothes right what's important is i have big news.In in california there is gold and I thought we could go there and try to find gold. Precious said that sounds Like a great idea and Eric said’’ I’m in.Marissa said it going to be dangerous. Then Klair said “Who cares we got to live life to the fullest”And then George said so are we going to go or not.”Then Precious Said “yes” then George said ‘’Lets pack’’.Then go to town in my wagon and on the way here i saw a flyer that said “Ship going to san francisco tonight tickets cost 5.00.”Then Precious said “so your saying we should buy tickets.”The Gorge said “yes.” Eric said “then let's go get our money and the tickets’’ but first we should pack”everybody started to walk to their rooms. Eric was about to go pack when
he noticed George just stayed where he was.Eric said “aren't you going to go pack’’.George said “I already packed just in case you guys said yes.Then Eric said “Oh.”Then Eric went to go pack.Klair said ‘’I can’t find anything in my messy room’’ Marissa told Klair ‘’Well maybe if you didn’t sleep like a pig you would find your stuff.Klair said ‘’Be quiet’’and she threw some old bread.Marissa said ‘’ow it feels like a rock’’. Then Klair started laughing . Everyone was done packing except Precious. When Precious finally got out of the house everyone was waiting for her.They all mostly packed extra clothes,blankets,pillows,and a lot of food for them and there .They headed to town on their wagon.They got to they haber and headed to a booth with a bright red color that look like a lantern.So we went to the booth.But then Eric said ‘’I frogot my money’’ but then klair said ‘’ its okay let’s comeback tonight and hijack the boat.” Precious said ‘’Thats a great idea’’.Everybody agree so that night we all went back to the boat and we got on and we started out on our adventure. We set out and it was super hard there were rushing winds.We survived though all of it.After 7 months we arrived at San Francisco and started our hunt for gold.We paid for all of the supplies and we set to find camp.We saw so many people on the way. Finally we started to hunt for gold.After 6 week we found 2 big pieces of gold.That night we were all sleeping and George Came in and took the
gold and everything else.When we woke up the next morning we saw that everything was gone.We knew that george took everything so we started to hunt him down.
After we found that everything was gone we started to hunt for George.It
took 2 month to find him but we caught up to him we grabbed the gold and shot georg dead .After that we took the gold back to the bank and turned it in.We got 100$ each And we did not tell anyone about george again.We finally we started our way back to madrid.And that is the story of the gold rush and to the reader do not tell people about George.
