What is NFL?
National Football League (NFL), major U.S. professional gridiron football organization, founded in 1920 in Canton, Ohio, as the American Professional Football Association. Its first president was Jim Thorpe, an outstanding American athlete who was also a player in the league. The present name was adopted in 1922.

The NFL survived many years of instability and competition from rival organizations to became the strongest American professional football league. The most serious challenge to its leading role came from the American Football League (AFL) in the 1960s. The NFL and AFL completed a merger in 1970, creating a 26-team circuit under the name of the older NFL. Since then the league has expanded four times, adding six new franchises.

Who is #12
Tom Brady was drafted by the NFL’s New England Patriots in 2000, and the star quarterback has won three NFL MVP awards, four Super Bowl MVP awards and a record seven Super Bowl championships. In an incident known as “Deflategate,” Brady was suspended after an investigation into the charges that he knew about the illegal deflation of footballs before an important playoff game in 2015. Despite sitting out the first four games of the 2016 season, Brady went on to lead the Patriots to a Super Bowl LI victory over the Atlanta Falcons and added to his collection with a historic win over the Los Angeles Rams in Super Bowl LIII. After 20 seasons in New England, Brady signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in March 2020. He is also known for his marriage to supermodel Gisele Bündchen. Thomas Edward Patrick Brady Jr. was born on August 3, 1977, in San Mateo, California, Brady excelled at both football and baseball at Junipero Serra High School. After graduating in 1995, Brady passed up a chance to play professional baseball to go to the University of Michigan. Although a member of the school’s football team, Brady did not spend much time on the field in his first two college seasons. In his junior year, however, he served as the starting quarterback. That season, Brady threw 350 passes for 2,636 yards. In his final season, he helped lead his team to an Orange Bowl victory. Moving on to the NFL, Brady was drafted by the New England Patriots in the sixth round of the 2000 NFL draft. Initially, he served as a backup quarterback and played in only one game during his first season. The 2001 season was a different story: After starting quarterback Drew
Bledsoe was injured, Brady took over, proving himself a strong leader with a powerful arm. Anyone who doubted his abilities only had to look at the team’s record, an impressive 11 wins to 3 losses in the 14 games that Brady started. In the postseason, he helped the team secure a win over the St. Louis Rams at Super Bowl XXXVI, and Brady received the game’s MVP award. Two years later, Brady led his team to another win at Super Bowl XXXVIII against the Carolina Panthers, for which he earned a second Super Bowl MVP award. And in the 2004 season, Brady again led the team to Super Bowl success, taking down the Philadelphia Eagles, 24-21. In 2005, Brady signed a new six-year contract with the Patriots, and for the 2006 season, the team had a 12-4 record in the regular season. Even with critics carefully scrutinizing the 42-year-old quarterback’s play, New England began the 2019 season with eight consecutive wins. The Patriots lost three of their final six games, however, the fears raised by their rocky finish coming to fruition when they were sent packing in the first round of the playoffs by the Tennessee Titans. Following a season in which his passer rating slipped to 88.0 and he failed to earn a Pro Bowl selection for the first time since his injury-marred 2008 campaign, Brady’s NFL future became a source of debate for fans who wondered whether he would retire, re-sign with New England or play elsewhere.

On March 17, 2020, the QB answered one of those questions with a statement posted to his social media accounts that revealed his intention to continue his career elsewhere. Thanking the Patriots faithful, he wrote: “My children were born and raised here and you always embraced this California kid as one of your own. I love your commitment and loyalty to your teams and winning for our city means more than you will ever know.”

Interview an about To What’s the best thing that’s different in your life since the Super Bowl win?
Tom Brady: Wow, I would say the best thing is looking at the Super Bowl ring and thinking, man, I’ve been a part of a team that won it all. I’m a world champion.
How are the summer workouts going?
Brady: The one thing about our team this year is guys don’t mind working hard. The leaders of the team are there, setting the tone for the young guys and when the young guys see that, they want to be a part of it. They say, wow, this is what it takes to be good. Is the feeling different than last summer and in what way?
10
Brady: We’re certainly more confident,
you know. There’s more of a swagger. But at the same time, you realize that if you lose that first game, everyone will say, look, this team’s changed, they’re not the same group. But I don’t think our team will fall into that, I don’t think our coach will let us. Is there less pressure this year? Brady: There’s pressure from everyone, from your coaches, from your family, from the media, from your friends. I’ve always said that my expectations of myself were always pretty high, higher than anyone’s ever given me credit for. When you win a Super Bowl, my feeling is wow, that’s great, but I really kind of expected it, not in a bragging way ... so now the question is, what’s next?
Did you take a lot of heat for the Sports
nd Questions om Brady Illustrated cover shot you did with your shirt off?
Brady: Way, way too much heat.
How did they persuade you to do it?
Brady: I got suckered on that one pretty good. We played a round of golf and we were hanging out. I started feeling pretty comfortable, they were giving us food, my dad was sitting over there eating, and my buddies were over there eating. And the photographer says, “You know, I’m looking for a different shot, maybe we should try something different. Maybe you should take your shirt off.” When did you guys, as a team, believe you could win it all?
Brady: I think it was a couple of weeks
into training camp. We knew we had something special. When we started out and barely lost to the Jets, and then we beat Indy big. And then we beat San Diego in a big comeback win, down 10 with seven minutes left in the fourth, and that’s when we said, “We know what we’re made of.”
What’s the most important par of your game-day routine? Tom: I listen to some Jay-Z. So, that’s probably been a staple for a long time. He came out with the black album and I use to play the Interlude, the public service everytime I run out on the field.

What is the NFL Pro Bowl?
Every year, the best players from the NFC and AFC go head-to-head in an exhibition game to recognise their achievements from that season. Although the game itself is largely forgettable, being picked to play in the Pro Bowl is one of the highest honours a player can receive. It proves the player has been among the very, very best at his position in any given season. The game has suffered from low ratings and criticism over the years as players do not want to injure opponents or get injured. As the NFL is such a physical league, this means the tackling and big hits that define the league are all but redundant. There are also a number of rule differences to ensure the game is safer than a regular NFL game. The Pro Bowl used to be played the week after the Super Bowl but is now the week before - players whose team are in the Super Bowl do not play.
At this moment teams have not been finally decided, 19

What is the Puppy Bowl
The Puppy Bowl isn’t exactly straight forward, as you can’t compare it to an actual football game. Puppies from local shelters play together inside a miniature stadium. Well, maybe it is straight forward. The action comes from the puppies fighting over chew toys and the “winners” are the pups who snag a toy and drag it across either end zone line.
The puppies featured in the Puppy Bowl are from shelters. The entire program is designed to raise awareness about adopting pets from shelters and rescuing abandoned animals.
