Guatemala City is the fourth capital of Guatemala, founded after the city of Santiago de los Caballeros (Antigua) was destroyed by an earthquake in 1773. Today Guatemala City has a population of nearly 4 million. “Guate”, as locals call it, is the country’s most modern city and is where most museums, restaurants, bars and cafes are.

The tour will be a guided english tour through downtown historic center, a visit to the Cathedral, National Palace and 6th avenue then will have lunch at Los Tres Tiempos.

After lunch visit the Ixchel museum, the Popol Vuh Museum and handcraft market.

Overnight in Guatemala City (Clarion Suites)

Dinner on your own.
