Day 3: Kayak and boat tour of San Juan

Your guide will meet you at the hotel for the boat transfer to the starting point for a kayak adventure for approximately 45 minutes along charming peninsulas admiring the beautiful gardens of the coast. The views are spectacular with three impressive volcanoes, Atitlán, San Pedro and Tolimán.

San Juan la Laguna is another town that can be visited, by boat, is famous for cooperatives dedicated to the elaboration of textiles, who use dyeing techniques transmitted by generations and galleries of native art. Lunch on your own.

Day 2: Antigua and Finca La Vision

Breakfast included at the hotel. Enjoy a guided walking tour of Antigua. You will visit breath taking colonial monuments and find out why this city was the bustling center of the region for the Spaniards. Starting at central plaza the guide will give you a general idea about the colonization, Guatemala’s history & contemporary issues. View the outside main buildings (Palacio de Capitanes, City Hall, and El Portal), visit backstage of the Cathedral & Cathedral ruins & San Francisco church.

Day 5: Guatemala City Tour

Guatemala City is the fourth capital of Guatemala, founded after the city of Santiago de los Caballeros (Antigua) was destroyed by an earthquake in 1773. Today Guatemala City has a population of nearly 4 million. “Guate”, as locals call it, is the country’s most modern city and is where most museums, restaurants, bars and cafes are.

The tour will be a guided english tour through downtown historic center, a visit to the Cathedral, National Palace and 6th avenue then will have lunch at Los Tres Tiempos.

After lunch visit the Ixchel museum, the Popol Vuh Museum and handcraft market.

Day 1: Flight to Flores, Petén.

Flight to Flores and transfer to Las Lagunas hotel. Monkey tour. The Las Lagunas property has 5 private lagoons, in 2 of them there are two monkey islands. You will go by boat and return to Las Lagunas lodge. Lunch on your own

Private transfer to the archaeological site of Yaxha. Yaxha is an archaeological site and ancient ceremonial center of the Mayan civilization located on the northeast of Petén. This site is a mix of archaeology, beautiful landscapes and ecological tourism. With more than 500 structures on the site, including 40 stelae, 13 altars, and 9 pyramids, this site is a must when visiting the area. Upon arrival, your guide will show you the layout and the main temples. End the day watching an incredible sunset on top of a pyramid. (This service is on a private basis.)

Day 2: Tikal

Transfer to Tikal National Park. Your guide will show you the layout of the temples, the architecture, the history, some theories why the Mayans disappeared and if you are lucky some monkeys, parrots, macaws and toucans will be at the site. After the tour, enjoy lunch at a restaurant in the middle of the jungle. (This service is on a private basis.)
