Bunker Hunters Day Tour - Visit Highlights
WWII Army Artillery Batterie Moltke & Naval Artillery Batterie Lothringen. Both Batteries had a range of over 10 miles and are just two of the 16 Artillery Batteries built here during the five year occupation. Both of these sites still have examples of the Artillery Guns used. Strongpoint Plemont was a combination of a strongpoint, protecting the coast from Allied invasion, and Artillery Observation post. This visit includes unique access to a WWII Army Observation Bunker. We will then move on to visit a German resistance nest with access to a Fortress Strength Personnel Bunker. Grev de Lecq Tower is a Conway Tower or Jersey Round Tower built as a British defence and observation tower. These were put in place to stop invaders in the 1780's. We will go inside a tower that has survived many conflicts and military modification. Â Ho19 & 20 are WWII Tunnels that have not been open to the public. This tunnels have been untouched since the end of the war and are a stark reminder of the forced labour used to built fortifications. Within the tunnels we will show you how huge the scale of enemy engineering was. Â Above are just some of the key site stops. We use real artefacts, from deactivated weapons to home made wireless radio sets, digital media and original photos to help tell the islands occupation story. We will also cover the Allied Commando Raids, naval battles and some very heroic escape stories.
